Welcome! (To The N’th Degree)

So much to say, so many places to say it.  PeterSantilli.com is my newest venue for Blogging about topics related to my Internet Radio program at www.ThePeterSantillishow.com;  and that’s a relatively broad range of topics.

My career;  for that matter; my entire “being” is dedicated to my generation and older.  At 43 (born in 1965), I’m at the trailing edge of the Baby Boomer generation***, and I proudly wear the title “Baby Boomer”; mainly because of my disgust with Generation X.  My hope through these writings is to give the world an indication why my loyalty remains to the generations that built our beautiful country — only to be trashed, pillaged, sold off and abused by generations to follow.

As to my patriotism, I am a former United States Marine, a Cold War Veteran, and a loyal Reagan conservative.  (now formally declared an Independent)   I loved, and I’m most proud of the country I served in the 80′s as a U.S. Marine, and the 90′s as a businessman.

I am most horrified by the creation of our 3rd tier position as a downward spiraling economy of the new world order.  Most of my former fellow conservative republicans would spew the party line by saying, “…well, if you don’t like our country, then live somewhere else…”  My recent response is, “…I’m considering it, especially if you continue to transfer all of our wealth to Abu Dabai as drastically as you intend!”

Stay tuned for more self indulgence.  I crack myself up, and my writings are mainly intended for my own personal enjoyment and entertainment.  I hope the rest of the world appreciates it as much as I do.

  1. This is interesting. I was also born in 1965, in Pearl Harbor at a large army hospital while my dad was serving as an officer on a destroyer off the coast of Vietnam.

I’ve never considered myself part of the Boomer generation, though. (I’ve always read that the cut-off is 1964.) I guess I have a hard time categorizing myself as part of my parents’ generation. Plus there are just as many negatives about the Boomers as any other generation (they’ve certianly done their share of pillaging), and I’ve continued to hold out hope for the X’ers. I figure if we’re smart enough to recognize the problems that exist among the X’ers, then maybe we can be the leaders to help create change.

Like you, I’m very sentimental about the 80′s. My kids roll their eyes whenever I pull out my Madonna and Peter Gabriel cd’s. I dragged my two teenagers to see Duran Duran in concert when they came to Phoenix recently and we ended up having a blast. I was a staunch Reagan supporter too….

I like your blog, by the way! The web site I’m working for has an audience mainly comprised of Boomers, so I’m trying to get to know this realm. Thanks for tackling it so succinctly.

    Best,
    Kristin
