5 Things To Tell You As We Close 2008

VISITING FAMILY IN NEW YORK

Over the holiday, my brother and I have had some pretty intense discussions about my opinion of where the United States is headed.  As a Conservative Republican, he’s not only bitter about losing the election; he refuses to shift his thinking to keep up with our modern day challenges.  Essentially, my brother stands loyal beside other Republicans who wave flags & spew “free-market” capitalist rants about the ability of individual Americans to turn things around.

Sorry Brother.  Free-market, carrot dangling capitalism will not lead us out of this hole.  Dangling carrots in front of American workers is not going to lead us anywhere but to slaughter at this time in our history.  We need leadership at the top, not perpetually positive slavery from the bottom.

Over the past few days, I’ve tried to share my views of the world with my family members, and articulate the damage that the United States has inflicted on our global economy.  My entire family agrees that we’re in trouble, but recently, my Mom said to me, “Peter, why do you want to scare everyone with those thoughts? There’s nothing people can do about it, so why worry them.”

We were sitting across from each other at the dining room table, and I realized she had the same naive, glazed-over look in her eyes that most Americans have.  Most people would rather not know what danger lurks ahead of us until it gets here.  We’ve become a nation of procrastinators, living only in the moment, craving instant gratification & high, short term rewards.  Some Americans blindly believe that anything other than a positive attitude will produce a negative result, ignoring the fact that we victims never originated the problem, and therefore would find it difficult to fully understand the magnitude of the crisis.

My brother said to me, “Peter, you need to think of all the positive things in the world that far outweigh the negative.”  I believe what he said is true, but I don’t believe that should be my contribution to our society during this very difficult period.  There’s plenty of other people in the world that can be put in charge of the “positive” department.  Most of the issues we’re facing cannot be solved by closing our eyes, being positive, and sticking our fingers in our ears.

MY “BLOG ROLE” IN 2008

In 2008, I began communicating some disturbing and deceptive trends I observed the U.S. government perpetrating on our citizens.  Beginning with the fall of IndyMac, I knew that the government was fully aware of the magnitude of the financial crisis, but intentionally concealed what they knew…..as a matter of “national security”.

On July 12, 2008 I wrote a blog post titled When Is Enough Enough.  Indymac was seized by government regulators under the radar, and a 40 billion dollar mess was almost swept under the carpet.  At the time, Americans couldn’t fathom what was ahead of us, and I tried my best to get everyone’s attention.

Since then, I settled into a role of sharing reality & truth, as it is my opinion that our politicians; our government; our business community is designed to share only positive news….To keep you spending money.

If you listen closely to the people around you, they all parrot the same line that corporate America has ingrained into their personalities, “…be positive…”  “…team work will get us there!…”.

With respect to the economy, things took a turn for the worse in 2008, and I found a much more important role; that of a realist.  My blog became a vehicle for me to convey reality to my fellow Americans, because we’re all surrounded with too many “optimism zombies” selfishly programmed to keep the consumer machine working.

OPTIMISTICALLY APPROACHING REALITY IN 2009

In 2009, I want to surround myself with the most positive, inspirational individuals I can find.  Generally, I’ve always been the most positive, motivated & inspirational leader my entire life, and my association with other optimists helped me attain the success and wealth I am presently blessed with.  In my opinion, optimism is as necessary for life and survival as water and air.

Our entire society needs a leader.  A motivator.  Someone more inspirational than we’ve ever known.  Unfortunately, that can’t be me, but I hope this person emerges very soon.

As we search for a leader, I’ll escalate my commitment to educate and discuss topics that the main stream media, government, and corporate America refuse to share with you.  I will openly discuss “doom & gloom” with one specific intent:  To educate & create awareness.  People need to prepare themselves for what is now the “eventuality” of our total economic self destruction.

If circumstances are negative in 2009, I want to talk openly discuss how people need to protect themselves. For instance, it is estimated that 1 out of every 4 Americans will be out of work soon.  Why would we not want to save every penny – just in case that happens?  I want to be the one whose not afraid to help my fellow Americans prepare & pretect their families.

Corporate America wants you to be “positive” and blow all your money regardless.  That’s why I don’t want my role in 2009 to be optimist, or leader in charge of marching the masses off a cliff to to certain economic death.  We have plenty of those leaders in our society —- look where they brought us.

WE CANNOT RELY ON OUR GOVERNMENT TO SAVE US

Here’s one word to prove my point: KATRINA.

We have a very large contingent of politicians whose sole purpose is as follows: TO GET RE-ELECTED.

Their slick presentations are designed for us to maintain confidence in their bullshit.  Some of them make the fateful mistake of believing their own bullshit, and that’s why some lose elections — like John McCain did; remember: “The fundamentals of the economy are sound…”

Politicians and government officials have no idea how we got here, so how could we EVER trust them to get us ~out~ of this mess.

Trust in yourself. Trust in news information from multiple sources.  Most importantly, trust that if you ignore the sounds of a freight train and decide to continue standing on the tracks with your entire family, you will eventually get run over.

Remember:  The rich always gather the “inside” information they need to have an advantage over the poor.   Not everyone can be wealthy, and not everyone can hold onto their wealth, especially when overpowered.

MY OPINION OF WHAT IT WILL TAKE TO TURN THINGS AROUND

In my humble opinion, the options are very limited because of the enormity of the global financial crisis.  The United States will only survive and benefit from a turn around if one of two things take place:

1) World War

2) Revolutionary invention of renewable energy

If either of the two do not materialize within the first 3-6 months of 2009, our civilization, as we know it, is in deep trouble.  As you may already know, the global monetary system is collapsing and first world governments don’t know how to stop falling into the abyss.  Most governments, including ours, are merely planning for inevitable unrest if the banking system shuts down for any length of time, especially if our money is devalued by 50-60% when they re-open after a global monetary system “reset”.

Don’t discount the “doom & gloomer’s”. Listen to some of them very closely.  Especially listen to former heads of state who project dire circumstances, as they have nothing to gain by informing the populous.  They realize how much more important it is to educate, rather than conceal, in order for us to survive the impending unfettered chaos.

My so called “job” on the internet is to communicate awareness, educate the naive as much as possible, but most importantly, promote planning and preparation.  If people act on the information I provide by stocking up on emergency supplies, food, etc. and nothing happens….no harm, no foul.  We’re all better prepared for a natual disaster.

The worst thing I could do is conform to the optimists and “stay positive”, ignoring the signs of coming danger and failing to help mankind get through a very tough period ahead.

Be courageous as you read and heed my warnings in the coming months.  Take the information and use it to protect your family.  Be extremely vigilant.  Become the greatest strength and backbone for your family, because in tough times, nobody will be there to feed and comfort them but you.  There is no government in the world that can care for your family better than you can.

Look back to as recent as July 2008.  The US government knew we were in deep financial trouble.  Did they come forward and warn you about the coming economic trouble so you could minimize your 401K losses?  Absolutely not.  In my opinion, they used the information for their own personal gain, and let the rest of us us citizens hang.

The same set of circumstances exist.  Don’t think for one moment that the media and our government will come forward to tell you that they don’t know how our American civilization will survive.

They don’t want to scare you, but I do……and I believe that’s a good thing for your family.

Things will turn around. We will absolutely survive, but don’t be in the same position you are right now, surprised; somewhat stunned and bitter that you trusted a system that was actually designed to fail the people at the bottom.

Be smart and spread the word with me.  Don’t wait around for someone to feed you the information you need to make well informed decisions.  Go get it your self, and make sure you sift through the bull crap they WANT you to here (so you’ll keep spending money).

No matter how we will fair, I shall see you in 2009.

    Peter,

I really like your blog info and wish I had discovered you earlier! I am fascinated with Biblical “End-times” prophecy and current world events. Some people believe that we are in the “end times”. I believe it’s possible but more likely just a glimpse of the destruction to come. Why is the US not mentioned in the Book of Revelation? Your concerns are the answer I’m afraid. To paraphrase a comment I heard attributed to the Rev. Billy Graham, if God doesn’t destroy the US he will have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah. Keep up the great work! May God bless you in 2009!

    Hermann Goering-
“Naturally the common people don’t want war; neither in Russia, nor in England, nor in America, nor in Germany. That is understood. But after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is to tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.”

    Peter,

I must say it was a very well written post. However, some of your facts are a bit shady. I am an economist & would love to know where you pulled the 1 out of 4 people will be unempolyed. As for your energy policy solutions, I’m afraid you’ve been drinking some pretty strong kool-aid.

I do agree McCain is a complete dolt, but what politician isn’t? I’m afraid of the future bozo in chief & democrat congress have in store for us, your predictions of doom & gloom could be a foreshadowing event.

    Happy New Years

As an astrologer, I have to tell you that this post nails it.
And I love your point about the people in power knowing what’s coming and only covering their own arses.
Why are they telling people to spend?
Why aren’t they taking this as an opportunity to reconstruct society and the economy on a healthier basis? You cannot have endless growth. That’s just common sense. Resources are finite.
None of the politicians and leaders are revolutionary enough for what is to come, they are still working from the old hymn sheet. And I don’t mean revolutionary in the Marxist sense, I mean genuinely able to forge a new route not based on dogma.

  5. You know what is really, really weird.

Over my holidays – I was telling my mother about your blog. Your story about the camps the military has drills to create to contain unruly citizens (protestors). She scoffed at me. Telling me to stop reading that “shit.”

I am so glad you are here because (as a former member of the media) I can tell you with confidence that 98% of what we here is misconstrued, ill-delivered and laughable compared to the truth.

My biggest worry, is that those who do not heed the warnings, are the very ones I will have to care for when it all falls apart. I see very little chance of survival during hard times, if only 1 person on the block got their firewood, filled their pantry with staples and saved their money. You don’t stop loving people just because they’re too hard headed to plan ahead.

  7. Aftercancer says:

I think your family is my family. As a doom and gloomer my self I want to let you know that I think this post is spot on. I work in government in human services and we are about to hit a perfect storm; a downward trending economy and services that depend on Medicaid reimbursement which has been halved in states that are trying to get people off the rolls due to the same economy.

And in my life, I am a cancer survivor of 2 1/2 years thanks in great part to HEALTH INSURANCE. No job, no insurance.
