Attached are my public comments prepared for delivery to our city council at a regular monthly meeting on Tuesday August 3, 2010 at 6:30 PM PST. **** Public comments below are encouraged & will be viewed by our local residents and government officials.
We are at war with our current reckless form of Democracy, and the battlefield needs to become our local City Hall. People cannot afford to peacefully protest in Washington DC, and feel as though they do not have a say stopping our government from spending trillions on wars when we can’t even pay for the essential services such as fire, police & ambulance.
Unlawful taxation upon our people is a weapon that needs to be neutralized with loud opposition.
Putting the burden of repairing our immigration policies on the backs of the people we encouraged to come & work here illegally for over 30 years will be met with extreme resistance. Although I absolutely agree that everyone should obtain legal status, I do not believe that our current system is fair or affordable, and therefore the burden cannot be placed on the backs of the poor people — especially by Republicans desperate to show the public their “cojones” for political purposes. Our immigrants are not political pawns for the weak and wounded war mongering curmudgeons of the failed GOP.
If our local city government intends to perpetuate the failures of “free-market-capitalism”, they will be met with overwhelming opposition from our people.
My personal part in our Revolution begins tonight.
I come from a family of immigrants who came to this country at a time when the path to legal citizenship was easier, and becoming an American was something much more prideful than it is now. If I just landed here in the USA, I’m not very certain I could afford to pay $10,000 to apply for citizenship without any sort of guarantee of success, nor do I feel as though becoming an American citizen is something my Grandfather would be very proud of today. Regardless, I will stand beside my fellow human beings & oppose what corporations and governments typically do to skirt important responsibilities; they tax the crap out of the weak (Republicans; involuntarily via war & fend-for-yourself “capitalism”, and Democrats; directly via taxes & unfunded, zero-production socialism), and put families to the curb to claim political victory or profitability.
My fellow residents will either be beside me, or victims. Hopefully they choose to stand beside me.
My Public SB1070 Comments to Hesperia City Council
In September 2008 I asked my local City Council to stop Banks from foreclosing, evicting people, and leaving thousands of homes vacant. Since then, they have done nothing to stop banks from destroying our community.
Tomorrow evening, these same idiots are going to discuss taxing the residents to offset their financial mismanagement.
I plan to address the City Council again; except this time I’m not going to be as cordial.
