On December 9, 2008 I posted a copy of the TSA Screening Manual that was “leaked” by a TSA Government Employee. One month later, almost to the day, the inept government agency is pleading their case to the public that the proposed body scanners will not transmit pictures or data. In fact, per the documents obtained by CNN the TSA is outright lying to the public, as they specified in their manufacturer specifications that the “machines must have image storage and sending abilities“.
Regardless; the TSA can kick, scream, plead and lie to the public about whether or not their new full body scanners have storage & sending capabilities. We should base our trust on their past history with internal security.
I will reiterate, Transportation Security Administration is misleading the public with claims that full-body scanners at airports cannot store or send their graphic images. Would you allow naked pictures of you or your family members held in their trust?
Better yet, wouldn’t you love to see a naked photo of your favorite celebrity posted on the internet? (Just to prove my point).
In my opinion, full body scanners are a gross invasion of our personal privacy, and I find them so evasive that it’s almost pornographic.
Where is the Civil Liberties Union when we need them? Looks like they cannot withstand the commercial pressures of a fledgling multi-billion dollar industry to preserve our constitutional rights.
