{"id":3708,"date":"2022-06-02T19:13:12","date_gmt":"2022-06-02T19:13:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/petersantilli.com\/?p=3708"},"modified":"2022-06-04T14:49:44","modified_gmt":"2022-06-04T14:49:44","slug":"marine-corps-sparks-backlash-by-desecrating-uniform-to-celebrate-pride-month","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/petersantilli.com\/?p=3708","title":{"rendered":"Marine Corps Sparks Backlash by Desecrating Uniform to Celebrate &#8216;Pride Month&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><p>June 2, 2022 at 01:35PM (TB114) <strong><em>Marine Corps Sparks Backlash by Desecrating Uniform to Celebrate &#8216;Pride Month&#8217;<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<iframe class=\"rumble\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/rumble.com\/embed\/v14ovvq\/?pub=24ns9\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Marine Corps received flak online for posting a photo defacing part of a military uniform to celebrate homosexuality, bisexuality and transgenderism on the first day of \u201cPride Month.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThroughout June, the USMC takes Pride in recognizing and honoring the contributions of our LGBTQ service members,\u201d the service said in a Wednesday post on Twitter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe remain committed to fostering an environment free from discrimination and defend the values of treating all equally, with dignity and respect,\u201d the post said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Marine Corps attached an image to the tweet showing bullets painted in the colors of the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/monkeypox-outbreaks-linked-lgbt-pride-parade-fetish-festival\/\" target=\"_blank\">LGBT<\/a> rainbow flag fasted to a helmet by an elastic band featuring the phrase \u201cProud to serve.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The image drew an avalanche of criticism online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The conservative handle LibsofTikTok <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/libsoftiktok\/status\/1532013973544919041?s=20&amp;t=Kvw_4cStpwMQmi08NaLi1A\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">observed<\/a> that \u201cChina is laughing at us.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSeriously? How does fixating on differences foster cohesion and unity?\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ChristinaPushaw\/status\/1532017384642465795?s=20&amp;t=vEuk5GlF-42MsF8moasq4A\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said<\/a> Christina Pushaw, a spokeswoman for Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDo we only shoot gay bullets now?\u201d Washington Times columnist Tim Young <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TimRunsHisMouth\/status\/1532024085563297795?s=20&amp;t=FK-X3aATOkn6I6Q6vp1khw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">wrote<\/a>, with one user <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AGDProMan1\/status\/1532027356931571714?s=20&amp;t=FK-X3aATOkn6I6Q6vp1khw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">replying<\/a> in jest, \u201cNo, they just don\u2019t go straight any more.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe month of June is PTSD Awareness month,\u201d the veteran assistance organization Code of Vets <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/codeofvets\/status\/1532022761513787393?s=20&amp;t=e5gn4SgCINTataA9h21q3A\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">wrote<\/a>. \u201cSuicide has drastically increased in the military and in the veteran community. Our focus is on the mental health of our brothers and sisters not social equity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis is a disgrace.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another user <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/cufarmer\/status\/1532050115258892288?s=20&amp;t=tQi-QdV77yz8cA2mkqvheQ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">commented<\/a>, \u201cI know they give medals to units for squeeky clean floors, but since when does the USMC promote anything other than being a Marine? True equity comes from being recognized for your contribution, not who you prefer to sleep with, or your color, sex, pronouns, religion, or other.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt took about 25 years for Democrats to go from \u2018don\u2019t ask, don\u2019t tell\u2019 to \u2018never shut up about it,&#8217;\u201d radio host Christ Stigall <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ChrisStigall\/status\/1532042293791817728\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhen is the Marine Drag Queen Show?\u201d former Mediaite Managing Editor John Nicosia <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NewsPolitics\/status\/1532015183421493249?s=20&amp;t=e5gn4SgCINTataA9h21q3A\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">wrote<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many others commented on what the LGBT post says about U.S. military preparedness under the Biden administration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>True to that last user\u2019s comments, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=FXmyWdZfdgk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">2021 comparison<\/a> of U.S., Chinese and Russian military ads showed that the Russian and Chinese ads highlighted military effectiveness, masculinity and capabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, a U.S. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/air-force-releases-high-speed-ad-armys-woke-attempt-attracting-recruits-draws-significant-negative-commentary\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Air Force promo<\/a> featured a woman boasting of being the glass-ceiling-cracking child of two lesbian \u201cmothers.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This article appeared originally on <a
