color: initial; font-family: -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, 'Segoe UI', Roboto, Oxygen-Sans, Ubuntu, Cantarell, 'Helvetica Neue', sans-serif;\">The Department of Justice is weighing possible charges against Hunter Biden, after investigations into his business dealings and false statements involving his purchase of a gun have reached a \u2018critical juncture,\u2019<em>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2022\/07\/20\/politics\/hunter-biden-investigation-critical-juncture\/index.html\">CNN<\/a><\/em>\u00a0(!?) reports.<\/strong><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Sources say that the probe has intensified in recent months \u2018with discussions among Delaware-based prosecutors, investigators running the probe and officials at Justice Department headquarters.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>While no final decision has been made, the possibility of dropping charges on Hunter would put a longstanding guideline to avoid bringing politically sensitive cases close to an election.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p><em>Discussions recently have centered around possibly bringing charges that could include alleged tax violations and making a false statement in connection with Biden\u2019s purchase of a firearm at a time he would have been prohibited from doing so because of his\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2019\/07\/01\/politics\/hunter-biden-new-yorker-interview\/index.html\">acknowledged struggles with drug addiction<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u2026<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Adding to the pressure, Republicans in Congress have already announced that if they take over the House of Representatives after the midterm elections,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2022\/01\/13\/politics\/republican-majority-investigation-plans-midterms\/index.html\">they plan to launch new investigations<\/a>\u00a0and hold hearings to examine the conduct of Hunter Biden and others in the Biden family. -CNN<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The debate over whether to bring the case this close to midterms has revolved around the fact that Joe Biden\u00a0<em>isn\u2019t on the ballot<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>While the DOJ probe initially focused on Hunter Biden\u2019s financial and business activities in foreign countries\u00a0<strong>while his father was vice president<\/strong>, investigators\u00a0<strong>had expanded the scope\u00a0<\/strong>to include whether Hunter and associates violated money laundering, campaign finance, tax and foreign lobbying laws \u2013 and whether he broke federal firearm and other regulations, according to multiple sources.<\/p>\n<p>These matters have been\u00a0<strong>narrowed down to tax and gun-related charges<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 which means the Biden family will likely be shielded from scrutiny over improper business dealings which leveraged Joe Biden\u2019s position of power \u2013 and which Joe Biden provably lied about discussing with Hunter.<\/p>\n<p><strong>So Hunter gets a pass on all this?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In March,\u00a0<em>CBS News<\/em>\u2018 Catherine Herridge reported that\u00a0<strong>two associates of the younger Biden testified before a grand jury last fall<\/strong>\u00a0about a shady, now-bankrupt Chinese energy company linked to the infamous \u201c10 for the big guy\u201d from Hunter\u2019s emails.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFederal officials are looking at his foreign business dealings, including his ties to a Chinese energy company,\u201d said \u201cCBS Mornings\u201d host Tony Dokoupil.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe investigation began as a tax inquiry years ago\u00a0<strong>and has expanded into a federal probe involving the FBI and IRS,<\/strong>\u201d Herridge added. \u201cA source familiar with the investigation now tells CBS News,\u00a0<strong>two men who worked with Hunter Biden when his father was Vice President were called to the grand jury last fall.\u201d\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to records reviewed by CBS along with congressional documents, the feds are looking at \u201cmultiple financial transactions involving an energy company called CEFC. Republicans accuse the business of being an arm of the Chinese government. In 2017, the year Joe Biden left the Vice Presidency, a $1 million retainer was signed with a Chinese energy company for Hunter Biden\u2019s services as a lawyer.<\/p>\n<p>His client, a CEFC official, Patrick Ho, was later convicted on international bribery and money laundering charges on unrelated work in Africa.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>For those who\u2019ve been keeping up with our reporting since\u00a0<strong>October<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>2020\u00a0<\/strong>when the Hunter Biden laptop story broke (and was immediately suppressed by the media), CEFC was the company that the Bidens allegedly accepted a $5 million interest-free loan\u00a0<strong>that enraged their business partner, Tony Bobulinski \u2013\u00a0<\/strong>who\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/political\/hunter-biden-ex-biz-partner-was-livid-over-5mm-side-deal-chinese-texts\">flipped on the Bidens<\/a>\u00a0following a Senate report which revealed the $5 million \u2018loan.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>According to the former Biden insider, he was introduced to Joe Biden by Hunter, and they had an hour-long meeting\u00a0<strong>where they discussed the Biden\u2019s business plans with the Chinese, with which he says Joe was \u201cplainly familiar at least at a high level.\u201d\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Text messages from Bobulinski also reveal\u00a0<strong>an effort to conceal Joe Biden\u2019s involvement<\/strong>\u00a0in Hunter\u2019s business dealings, while Tony has also\u00a0<strong>confirmed that the \u201cBig guy\u201d described in a leaked email is none other than Joe Biden himself.<\/strong><\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/assets.zerohedge.com\/s3fs-public\/styles\/inline_image_mobile\/public\/inline-images\/don%27t%20mention%20joe_1.jpg?w=640&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cYou can imagine my shock when reading the report yesterday put out by the Senate committee.\u00a0\u00a0<strong>The fact that you and HB were lying to Rob, James and I while accepting $5 MM from Cefc is infuriating<\/strong>,\u201d wrote Bobulinski to Jim Biden. (Via the\u00a0<em>Daily Caller<\/em>\u2018s Chuck Ross):<\/p>\n<p>CEFC was paying Hunter $850,00 per year according to an email from Biden business associate James Gilliar to Bobulinksi \u2013 which is also the source of the \u201c<strong>10 held by H for the big guy<\/strong>\u201d email.<\/p>\n<p>Emails obtained by the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2020\/10\/15\/emails-reveal-how-hunter-biden-tried-to-cash-in-big-with-chinese-firm\/\"><em>New York Post<\/em><\/a>\u00a0show that Hunter \u201cpursued lucrative deals involving China\u2019s largest private energy company \u2014 including one that he said would be \u201cinteresting for me and my family.\u201d\u201d according to the report.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/assets.zerohedge.com\/s3fs-public\/styles\/inline_image_mobile\/public\/inline-images\/10%20for%20the%20big%20guy.png?w=640&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>You can read more on Hunter and the CEFC\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/geopolitical\/blockbuster-report-reveals-how-biden-family-was-compromised-china\"><strong>here<\/strong><\/a>.
