{"id":4626,"date":"2022-08-06T13:26:04","date_gmt":"2022-08-06T13:26:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/petersantilli.com\/?p=4626"},"modified":"2022-08-06T13:26:15","modified_gmt":"2022-08-06T13:26:15","slug":"alex-jones-ordered-to-pay-49-3m-in-sandy-hook-show-trial","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/petersantilli.com\/?p=4626","title":{"rendered":"Alex Jones Ordered to Pay $49.3M in Sandy Hook \u2018Show Trial\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Alex Jones Ordered to Pay $49.3M in Sandy Hook \u2018Show Trial\u2019<\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Alex Jones has been ordered to pay over $49 million in damages to the parents of one Sandy Hook victim for \u201cdefamation\u201d and \u201cintentional infliction of emotional distress\u201d for calling the shooting a \u201choax\u201d nearly one decade ago.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Owen Shroyer reacts to verdict live on Friday\u2019s War Room<\/em>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ifw-player\" data-video-id=\"62ed97d7888e5a4af0795603\"><\/div>\n<p><script src=\"https:\/\/infowarsmedia.com\/js\/player.js\" async=\"\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn Texas, there are statutory limits on punitive damages, with a per-defendant cap of two times the amount of economic damages, plus the amount of noneconomic damages found by the jury\u2014the latter part not to exceed $750,000,\u201d Bloomberg Law\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/news.bloomberglaw.com\/bankruptcy-law\/alex-jones-ordered-to-pay-extra-45-million-in-punitive-damages\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reports<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJudge Maya Guerra Gamble of the 459th District Court in Travis County may reduce the punitive damages given those caps, and Jones\u2019 attorneys said immediately after the verdict that they would file a motion to reduce the punitive award.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.informationliberation.com\/?id=63240\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Jones was found guilty by Democratic judge Maya Guerra Gamble before the trial began<\/a>\u00a0for allegedly failing to comply with discovery, which allowed Jones\u2019s persecutors to side-step the free speech issue entirely and only have a jury rule on damages.<\/p>\n<p>His defense was sabotaged by his own lawyer apparently inadvertently handing over the contents of Jones\u2019 cell phone to the plaintiffs\u2019 lawyers.<\/p>\n<p>Judge Gamble said she was not going to stop the Jan 6 committee from seizing his private phone records so they can further persecute him.<\/p>\n<p>Jones did what he could to defend himself on the stand but the game was rigged from the start.<\/p>\n<p>There are still two more trials to go, one in Austin and another in Connecticut.
