Zelenskiy, who will address the meeting, has said his &#8220;number 1 priority,&#8221; is air defence systems, something Biden has already promised to provide.<\/p>\n<p>* Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Tuesday that Russia <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/russia-open-putin-meeting-biden-g20-lavrov-says-2022-10-11\/\">will not turn down<\/a> a meeting between President Vladimir Putin and Biden at a forthcoming G20 meeting and would consider the proposal if it receives one.<\/p>\n<div>\n<h5>Register now for FREE unlimited access to Reuters.com<\/h5>\n<\/div>\n<p>* Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly on Tuesday called Russia&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/canada-foreign-minister-calls-russian-attacks-ukraine-abhorrent-2022-10-11\/\">latest attacks<\/a> on Ukraine &#8220;abhorrent&#8221; and said she condemned them &#8220;in the strongest possible terms&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>* Russia&#8217;s missile strikes on Ukraine are unacceptably &#8220;brutal attacks&#8221;, Italian Prime Minister Mario <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/europe\/italys-draghi-condemns-russias-brutal-attacks-ukraine-2022-10-11\/\">Draghi<\/a> told Zelensky on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>* French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna told France Inter radio on Tuesday that G7 heads of state would probably warn Belarus to stay out of the conflict.<\/p>\n<p>* Hong Kong&#8217;s leader said there was &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/hong-kong-leader-says-will-abide-by-un-sanctions-over-russian-superyacht-city-2022-10-11\/\">no legal basis<\/a>&#8221; for the city to act on Western sanctions, when asked about a Russian yacht berthed in the city that belongs to a sanctioned Russian oligarch. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/hong-kong-leader-says-will-abide-by-un-sanctions-over-russian-superyacht-city-2022-10-11\/\"> read more <\/a><\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<p>A view shows a residential building heavily damaged by a Russian missile strike, amid Russia&#8217;s attack on Ukraine, in Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine October 9, 2022. REUTERS\/Stringer<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>CONFLICT<\/p>\n<p>* Russian missiles killed 19 people and wounded dozens on Monday, emergency services said, as the weapons tore into intersections, parks and tourist sites as well as knocking out power.<\/p>\n<p>* Around 300 settlements in Kyiv region and a similar number around Lviv in western Ukraine remain without power, deputy Interior Minister Yevhen Yenin told a briefing on Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n<p>* Russia&#8217;s defence ministry said it had hit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/europe\/russias-defence-ministry-all-targets-hit-massive-missile-strikes-ukraine-2022-10-10\/\">&#8220;all designated targets&#8221;<\/a> on Monday in what it called an attack on military, communications and energy infrastructure. Putin earlier blamed Ukraine for an attack on a bridge linking Russia to annexed Crimea on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>* Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/europe\/ukrainian-foreign-minister-russian-attacks-energy-facilities-are-war-crimes-2022-10-11\/\">Kuleba<\/a> accused Russia on Tuesday of committing war crimes by deliberately targeting energy facilities to create &#8220;unbearable conditions for civilians&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>* Britain would expect to see indicators if Russia was starting to consider deploying its nuclear arsenal in its war with Ukraine, Britain&#8217;s top cyber spy said on Tuesday, repeating that any talk of using such weapons was highly dangerous.<\/p>\n<h2>QUOTES<\/h2>\n<p>* &#8220;We will do everything to strengthen our armed forces &#8230;
