Trump or Jesus?\" src=\"https:\/\/rumble.com\/embed\/v2bpbjw\/?pub=24ns9#?secret=58gxFzPnv2\" data-secret=\"58gxFzPnv2\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n<p><strong>Who Had It Worse, Trump or Jesus Christ?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At Least Jesus Wasn&#8217;t Prosecuted By A Bunch Of Racist Black Communists<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>WARNING:&nbsp; THE FOLLOWING ARTICLE WAS WRITTEN BY A MEMBER OF THE CIA MOCKINGBIRD MEDIA THAT IS COMPLICIT IN THE OVERTHROW OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<p>Some of Donald Trump\u2019s supporters can\u2019t help but see similarities between the plight of their beloved former president, who\u2019s in hot water, legally-speaking, for alleged schemes surrounding hush money to an adult film star, and the suffering of Jesus Christ.<\/p>\n<p>The Manhattan District Attorney\u2019s office is reportedly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vice.com\/en\/article\/pkayp9\/trump-arrest-charges-questions-what-happens\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">preparing to indict Trump<\/a> in relation to a $130,000 payment from his lawyer and fixer to Stormy Daniels in exchange for her silence prior to the 2016 election.<\/p>\n<p>Trump has tried to cast himself as a victim of political persecution by \u201cevil and sinister people,\u201d who are \u201ckilling our nation as we sit back &amp; watch\u201d in a series of blustering social media posts in recent days.<\/p>\n<p>The former president has long played a key role in the imaginations of Christian nationalists, who believe America is an inherently Christian nation, should have Christian laws, and that Trump is their savior. Christian nationalist language has seeped into MAGA-world rhetoric, but Trump\u2019s imminent arrest has taken it to new heights.<\/p>\n<p>Lawyer Joseph McBride, who is representing a handful of Jan. 6 defendants, thinks that the timing of Trump\u2019s likely arrest is notable.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPresident Trump will be arrested during lent\u2014a time of suffering and purification for the followers of Jesus Christ,\u201d McBride wrote on Twitter. \u201cAs Christ was crucified, and then rose again on the 3rd day, so too will @realdonaldtrump.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When he faced some pushback on comparing Trump\u2019s plight to Jesus Christ\u2019s hours-long torture, McBride doubled down. \u201cJESUS LOVES DONALD TRUMP. JESUS DIED FOR DONALD TRUMP. JESUS LIVES INSIDE DONALD TRUMP,\u201d McBride tweeted. \u201cDEAL WITH IT.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Other Trump supporters see eerie similarities between the Manhattan DA and the Romans who crucified Jesus.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRome tried to silence a peaceful leader via political persecution, and ended up creating the most pervasive &amp; permanent religious figure in all of world history,\u201d MAGA-world influencer Reanna Dilley wrote on Twitter.&nbsp; \u201cGood fucking luck, New York.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Others are writing Trump into the Bible.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo the wicked who are plotting against President Trump, who has committed no crime. Who has been chosen and appointed by Jesus Christ for such a time as this,\u201d one person wrote on Truth Social. \u201cMay you fall into your own nets, While President Trump escapes safely. \u2013 from Psalm 141:10.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trump\u2019s base worshiped him as a heaven-sent, Christ-like figure, despite his crass language, reported philandering, and scant evidence that he regularly attended church before running for president. His presidency helped usher in a new era of Christian nationalism, a right-wing philosophy whose adherents believe Trump is on a mission to restore God\u2019s kingdom in America by transforming its laws and cultural institutions to reflect evangelical Christian values. A widely-cited study identified Christian nationalism as the dominant ideology among the Jan. 6 Capitol rioters. And there\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.snopes.com\/fact-check\/trump-son-man-christ\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">even a book<\/a>, \u201cPresident Donald J. Trump, The Son of Man\u2014The Christ,\u201d written by a Trump supporter.<\/p>\n<p>In the Christian nationalist theological framework, all manner of right-wing culture war issues, including drag shows, COVID-19 vaccines, and now the looming indictment of Trump, became primordial battles between good and evil.<\/p>\n<p>Trump has harnessed surging Christian nationalism to his advantage, and has recently adopted increasingly apocalyptic rhetoric to imbue his campaign with a sense of urgency.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe greatest in our history, most important battle in our lives, is taking place right now as we speak,\u201d he told CPAC earlier this month. \u201cFor seven years, you and I have been engaged in an epic struggle to rescue our country from the people who hate it and want to absolutely destroy it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>At CPAC, Trump namechecked the \u201cGeorge Soros money machine.\u201d Soros, a Holocaust survivor and billionaire philanthropist who funds popular liberal causes, is regularly invoked as an antisemitic dog whistle by those on the extreme right\u2014Trump\u2019s former lawyer Rudy Giuliani <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buzzfeednews.com\/article\/amberjamieson\/giuliani-twitter-soros\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">once promoted a tweet <\/a>calling Soros the \u201canti-Christ,\u201d which is how he\u2019s often referred to in far-right circles. And over the weekend, Trump repeatedly tried to discredit the Manhattan DA\u2019s investigation into the Stormy Daniels hush money by claiming District Attorney Alvin Bragg was \u201cSoros funded\u201d (Soros donated money to a nonprofit civil rights group Color of Change, which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/2023\/03\/20\/trump-soros-desantis-bragg\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">donated money<\/a> to Bragg\u2019s campaign).<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cHe\u2019s giving them rhetoric to play around with, and enough violent groups are already looking for anything to grab onto\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Thomas Lecaque, an associate professor of history at Grand View University focusing on apocalyptic religion and political violence, says that these dog whistles are always dangerous, but particularly within the context of Christian nationalism and at a moment of surging antisemitism.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis language is just going to keep reinforcing the narrative that your cultural and religious enemies are politically persecuting you,\u201d said Lecaque. \u201cTrump is an exemplar of how \u2018your political enemies are persecuting you, we have to do something about it.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On Monday night, a Christian nationalist group called Pastors for Trump held a National Prayer Call on his behalf. Trump allies Roger Stone and Michael Flynn joined the call, hosted by Pastor Jackson Lahmeyer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFather, right now, I thank you for President Donald J. Trump and God I thank you for all that you\u2019ve done to him and through him and for him over the last eight years,\u201d Lahmeyer said. \u201cWe ask that every single person that refuses to submit to your will in Washington D.C., you would uproot them and you would remove them and replace them with men and women who will submit to the will of God.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The charges in Manhattan are likely just the tip of the iceberg for Trump\u2019s legal woes.
