Breaking: Leaked Memo We Warned You About Was Circulated Friday,’To Law Enforcement Partners Nationwide,’ Hours Ahead Of Pelosi Attack

Pete Santilli broke the news the other night that we should expect the following story. Santilli read Project Veritas’s warning that we should expect the thought police. The warning bell came from a leaked report by an FBI Whistleblower of a weird memo, showing there was a plan to stifle discussion about the November midterm under cover of ‘election crimes.’

And now the story is breaking, and it is confirmed by multiple news sources to have happened, but the memo was not released to the public. According to media reports, the memo was circulated to ‘law enforcement partners.

This comes from the Daily Mail and CBS News.

“The U.S. government has warned of a ‘heightened threat’ to the  midterm elections  with the contests  potential triggers for domestic extremist violence.

A joint intelligence bulletin obtained by  CBS News  appears to be the latest attempt by the Department of Homeland Security to draw attention to the threat posed by domestic violent extremism.

It is a shift from alerts about international terrorism that were a hallmark of the agency following its creation after the wake of the September 11, 2001, attacks.

‘ Potential targets of domestic violent extremism (DVE) violence include candidates running for public office, elected officials, election workers, political rallies, political party representatives, racial and religious minorities, or perceived ideological opponents,’ the bulletin, which was published on Friday, states.”

    CBS News reported:

“Less than two weeks before the 2022 elections, the U.S. government is warning of a “heightened threat” to the midterm contests, fueled by a rise in domestic violent extremism, or DVE, and driven by ideological grievances and access to potential targets, according to a joint intelligence bulletin obtained by CBS News.

“Potential targets of DVE violence include candidates running for public office, elected officials, election workers, political rallies, political party representatives, racial and religious minorities, or perceived ideological opponents,” the bulletin, published Friday, stated.

“According to the memo distributed to law enforcement partners nationwide Friday, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), FBI, National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC), and U.S. Capitol Police (USCP) predict that “violence will largely be dependent on drivers such as personalized ideological grievances and the accessibility of potential targets throughout the election cycle.” Intelligence analysts assess that the “most plausible” threat ahead of Election Day comes from “lone offenders who leverage election-related issues to justify violence,” with many individuals still amplifying false narratives of fraud that date back to the 2020 general election.

Analysts cautioned that government officials and personnel, “including candidates in the midterm election and officials involved in administering elections,” will likely remain “attractive targets” to those motivated by debunked claims of election fraud that have spread online. U.S. Capitol Police have reported a “sharp increase” of threats against members of Congress in recent years and notably documented 9,600 direct or indirect threats in 2021 alone.

IMPORTANT TO NOTE- this memo was not made public to the American people, according to the Department of Homeland Security website- which at the time of press, showed no update about any such memo.

On Saturday morning, Santilli spoke about the confusing amount of information on social media about the very confusing details in the Pelosi story.

  • PELOSI SMOLLIETTE: Biden Blames Republicans for Attack on Paul Pelosi

PELOSI SMOLLIETTE: Biden Blames Republicans for Attack on Paul Pelosi

Biden Blames Republicans for Attack on Paul Pelosi (Video)

Joe Biden blamed Republicans for the attack Paul Pelosi, the husband of Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), in remarks made at a Democrat fundraising dinner in Philadelphia Friday night.

Biden said he had spoken to Nancy Pelosi and provided her transportation from D.C. to San Francisco to be with her husband. Biden called Paul Pelosi “Bobby” in his remarks.

Biden claimed the attacker was chanting the same thing as the January 6 rioters: “Where is Nancy?”, but said he wasn’t really sure that was said by the attacker but that he had seen it reported.

    Transcript by TGP:

…Folks. Before I begin, I want us to take a short pause to send our love to Nancy and Paul Pelosi. I’ve been on the phone with Nancy. Arranged for her to be able to get from Washington out to, out to see her husband Bobby who, she’s in the plane right now heading out there.

And you’ve seen the news. He was attacked in their home. And when I spoke to the Speaker she said that he’s doing okay. He went to the hospital, he was operated on and he seems to be coming along well. He’s in good spirits, and the whole family’s there.

While this invasion’s ongoing, the news reports indicate it was intended to be an attack on the house Nancy Pelosi lives in–the third ranking person in the United States in line to be president.

You know it’s reported that the same chant was used by this guy they have in custody that was used on January 6th in the attack on the U.S. Capitol. I’m not making this up. This is reported, I can’t guarantee it. You can tell you what’s been reported. The chant was, “Where is Nancy? Where is Nancy? Where is Nancy?”

This is despicable. There’s no place in America–there’s too much violence, political violence, too much hatred, too much vitriol. And what makes us think that one party can talk about stolen elections, COVID being a hoax? That it’s all a bunch of lies and not affect people who may not be so well-balanced. What makes us think! That it’s not it’s not going to corrode the political climate?

Enough is enough is enough! Every person of good conscience needs to clearly and unambiguously stand up against the violence in our politics, regardless of what your politics are. All of us, all of us together as Americans.

Knowing Paul and Nancy and the family as I do, they’re tough as they come. We’re praying for him. We’re optimistic for his full recovery.

  • Elon Musk Takes Over Twitter “I Will Be Digging In More Today” – LIBS GO NUTSO!

Elon Musk Takes Over Twitter “I Will Be Digging In More Today” – LIBS GO NUTSO!

October 28, 2022 at 05:05PM “I Will Be Digging In More Today”

The Gateway Pundit reported that Elon Musk and Twitter reached a deal on Thursday.

Elon Musk purchased Twitter for $54.20 per share – or about $44 billion.

Elon’s first act was to rid the company of dead weight.

“Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal and finance chief Ned Segal have left the company’s San Francisco headquarters and will not be returning, sources said.” – According to CNBC.

Vijaya Gadde,  an immigrant from India who hates the First Amendment and was behind the censorship of conservatives and Trump supporters, was also fired on Thursday.

TGP reported that Elon Musk is allegedly set to reinstate all permanent Twitter bans per Bloomberg.

The newspaper also reported that Musk is set to take over as CEO of the company, at least in the short term. Musk also brought in Tesla engineers to review the platform’s code.

“Musk also intends to do away with permanent bans on users because he doesn’t believe in lifelong prohibitions, the person said. That means people previously booted off the platform may be allowed to return, though it was unclear if that included former president Donald Trump, the person said,” according to the Bloomberg report.

After the deal was finalized, the Babylon Bee’s account appeared to be reinstated following the news that Elon Musk will reinstate all suspended accounts.

Recall, the satirical outlet was suspended from Twitter for “hateful conduct” after it crowned Biden’s newly appointed Assistant Health Secretary, Rachel Levine.

However, several accounts on Twitter are still shadowbanned.

According to Jack Posobiec, Elon Musk is now working with popular Twitter personality the “Chief Turd,” @catturd, to free the Twitter algorithm.

“As of now, I’m still Shadowbanned, ghostbanned, searchbanned, and Twitter removed 1200 followers today – as usual,” popular account @catturd wrote on Friday.

“Nothing has changed – I’ll report again tomorrow.”

After @catturd voice out his concern, the new Twitter boss responded and said, “I will be digging in more today.”

The Gateway Pundit was banned from Twitter after we released exclusive footage of a late night ballot drop at the TCF Center in Detroit following the election.

Contributing Editor Joe Hoft had his account banned after posting exclusive information from Hunter Biden’s laptop before the 2020 election.

  • Bird Is Free! Elon Musk Fires Top Twitter Team, Revenge Is Sweet To Most Users, Marxist Reiner Freaks Out

Bird Is Free! Elon Musk Fires Top Twitter Team, Revenge Is Sweet To Most Users, Marxist Reiner Freaks Out

It was a happy night of meme-making at Twitter on Thursday night as news of the firings of three people from Twitter- who are considered to be the most anti-American usurpers on the platform and who denied free speech to many Americans, including the President of the United States, Donald J. Trump- were fired and escorted out of posh Twitter HQ.

Trump chimed in with the last laugh to cement the humiliation for the Marxist left- who have been posting taunting anti-American tirades at his supporters under a cloak of Twitter protection for years.

In general, Twitter posters celebrated freedom and mocked the left all night long over the exciting news, with many people especially focused on slamming meathead- Rob Reiner:

Elon Musk made the Earth Move late on Thursday night by firing three of the top Twitter executives. Media reports show that Musk is already working on the back end in an investigation that is certain to make the left very uncomfortable.

Revenge was on the minds of many people:

Robby Starbuck wrote about plans that Musk might have for Twitter, and he wanted to hold Musk’s feet to the fire over rooting out potential Government interference in the 2020 election using Twitter as their influence operations:

The sweetest revenge came as the woman who shut down Trump’s account was made to leave a cushy job. So- Goodbye – Viaya Gadde:

And not only were they fired, but they were escorted out of the building, according to news sources:

Pouty Hollywood Marxist, former actor Rob Reiner, who has been a persistent source of trolling and slamming Twitter users- promised to leave Twitter but has yet to shut down his account, as noted by numerous other users.

CNN, which is slowly- also- going through a transformation from its most radical Marxist days, has replaced its corporate leadership and has fired some of its most radical Marxist talents, reported on the Musk shake-up:

    “What’s next for Twitter

With the deal drama out of the way, attention now turns to Musk’s plans for Twitter.

Beyond the removal of Twitter’s CEO and other executives, Musk’s takeover could also usher in the return of some measure of influence over the company by founder Jack Dorsey. He stepped down as CEO in November and left its board in May. While Dorsey has said he will not formally return to Twitter, he has privately discussed the takeover with Musk and offered advice.

Musk has also reportedly told prospective investors in the deal that he planned to get rid of nearly 75% of the company’s staff, in a move that could disrupt every aspect of how Twitter operates. He previously discussed dramatically reducing Twitter’s workforce in personal text messages with friends about the deal, which were revealed in court filings, and didn’t dismiss the potential for layoffs in a call with Twitter employees in June.”

The Slams went on into the night, and were well deserved:

    Sweet, sweet revenge….

  • Federal Judge Threatens True The Vote With Jail Time For Contempt

Federal Judge Threatens True The Vote With Jail Time For Contempt

October 28, 2022 at 06:46AM Federal judge holds tight-lipped chiefs of election denial group in contempt

True the Vote’s principals said they could not divulge the name of an FBI informant involved in a hack of poll workers’ personal data. A judge said they had no choice.

HOUSTON (CN) — Leaders of the election-monitoring group True the Vote have until Monday morning to identify a man privy to the download of personal information of 1.8 million U.S. poll workers from a software company’s server, or they will be detained for contempt, a federal judge warned Thursday.

True the Vote, its founder Catherine Engelbrecht and contractor and former board member Gregg Phillips are leading proponents of the conspiracy theory voting fraud cost Donald Trump the 2020 presidential election.

With U.S. District Judge Kenneth Hoyt threatening them with fines and arrest in a contempt hearing Thursday, they took the witness stand and alleged they were working as confidential informants for the FBI from 2021 to May of this year, helping with an investigation of Konnech Inc., a Michigan-based company that sells software to help manage election equipment and poll workers.

The hearing centered on a meeting in a Dallas hotel room in early 2021.

Phillips testified a friend of his named Mike Hasson summoned him to the hotel and after they rolled up towels and placed them under the door, Hasson plugged his laptop into a TV and showed him data Konnech maintained for U.S. poll workers —including Social Security numbers, phone numbers, email addresses and banking information — that Hasson said he had obtained by accessing a password-protected server in China.

According to a defamation and computer fraud lawsuit Konnech filed on Sept. 12 in Houston federal court, its Chinese-American CEO and founder Eugene Yu and his family had to leave their home due to threats from True the Vote supporters after Phillips and Engelbrecht spread lies at events and on podcasts the company is a vehicle of the Chinese Community Party to manipulate U.S. elections.

The same day Konnech sued, Hoyt issued a temporary restraining order, directing Phillips and Engelbrecht to identify each person involved in taking Konnech’s data.

The saga took an unexpected twist Oct. 4 when Yu was arrested by local police in Michigan working with investigators from the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.

District Attorney George Gascón said Konnech has a contract with LA County that mandates it keep election worker information on secure servers in the United States, and a probe by his office had found probable Konnech was storing the data on servers in China.

Two days later, Hoyt convened a contempt hearing at the behest of Konnech’s attorneys, Dean Pamphilis and Nathan Richardson of Benson Kasowitz Torres, because Phillips’ and Engelbrecht’s attorneys were refusing to identify who had accessed Konnech’s data.

They said it would jeopardize national security and was an “FBI matter.” But under pressure from Judge Hoyt, they named Hasson in open court at the Oct. 6 hearing, despite their concerns it would somehow endanger Hasson.

A few days before Yu’s Oct. 14 arraignment in Los Angeles County on charges of grand theft by embezzlement of public funds and conspiracy to embezzle public funds, which together carry a maximum sentence of eight years in prison, True the Vote’s attorneys revealed Phillips had testified before the grand jury that indicted Yu.

Back in Houston, Hoyt scheduled another contempt hearing because True the Vote’s counsel still had not complied with the TRO and named everyone who had been in that Dallas hotel room or seen the filched data.

True the Vote’s initial counsel withdrew from the case, and it hired new lawyers, John Kiyonga of Alexandria, Virginia and Michael Wynne with Gregor Cassidy Wynne of Houston, to represent them at Thursday’s hearing.

Wynne started off trying to appease Judge Hoyt and avoid any contempt order against his clients with a sworn affidavit from Phillips, stating the only people who have seen Konnech’s stolen data besides Hasson and Phillips were two Texas-based FBI agents to whom Hasson had given the data.

Pamphilis, Konnech’s attorney, complained that he had spent the last 45 days “chasing these guys around,” trying to get information they insisted they couldn’t give up due to national security concerns and had incurred $130,000 in attorney’s fees.

“I want them to put on the record today all info required by the [TRO]. And if not be fined a specific amount or confined to jail until they do comply,” he said.

Judge Hoyt agreed. “A motion for contempt can’t be answered with an affidavit,” he said. “It has to be addressed with testimony or suffer the consequences. Failing to testify can lead to them [Phillips and Engelbrecht] being incarcerated. … This isn’t criminal contempt, it’s coercive contempt. They hold the key to the jailhouse. They can get out if they testify.”

After Phillips, Engelbrecht and their entourage of attorneys and bodyguards retired to a side room for a conference, they returned to the courtroom and Phillips took the stand.

Phillips, 62, in a blue suit jacket and sporting a long salt-and-pepper beard said, “I’m a contractor for True the Vote and was on its board from 2014 to 2017.”

Phillips testified he does not know how Hasson accessed Konnech’s data. He also revealed the involvement of a mystery man: He said a third FBI confidential informant had been in the hotel room with him and Hasson, as he considered both himself and Hasson to also be CIs for the agency, helping it with voter fraud investigations.

On cross-examination, Pamphilis tried to pry the man’s identify from Phillips.

“There was somebody else in the room with you, who was it” Pamphilis asked.

“I’m not at liberty to say,” Phillips replied.

Judge Hoyt interjected, “I’m ordering you to.”

“I’m a confidential informant, I can’t do it,” Phillips said.

Engelbrecht, 52, then took the stand. Punctuating her testimony with long dramatic pauses, she also declined to name the third man in the Dallas hotel room: “I can’t give the name because he’s an informant.”

Engelbrecht said she and Phillips lost their FBI confidential informant status in May after the criminal division of the Arizona Attorney General’s Office, which had been working with the pair on election fraud investigations, started calling different FBI offices and inquiring about them.

“The Arizona AG’s Office made so many calls it caused us to lose that status,” she said, before acknowledging that the agency had recently asked the FBI and IRS to investigate True the Vote because it had not delivered promised data proving widespread fraud in the 2020 election.

Engelbrecht and Phillips co-produced, with conservative commentator Dinesh D’Souza, a documentary called “2000 Mules” in which they purport to show, using cellphone app geolocation data and surveillance footage how 2,000 people, “mules,” working for unnamed nonprofits potentially stuffed 380,000 fraudulent ballots in drop boxes in five swing states that Joe Biden narrowly won in the 2020 election.

Near the end of a four-hour hearing that felt like eight hours, Wynne, True the Vote’s attorney, asked Engelbrecht if she would reveal the mystery man’s name if he could confirm with the FBI it is OK to do so.

“Yes,” she replied. “But I’m just very concerned about security.”

Hoyt pointed out that as a federal judge, he has the “highest security clearance of anyone in this country” and said Engelbrecht and Phillips must divulge the man’s identity before a hearing Monday morning

“They are both in contempt of court. And they have until 9 a.m. Monday to cure it, otherwise I’ll ask the U.S. Marshals to detain them,” Hoyt pronounced.

CRAZY RANT! MSNBC Host Shocked That Black Americans Are Allowed to Vote in America [VIDEO]

MSNBC is a cartoon network now- it is official.  There is no proof that the show hosts on MSNBC should be considered anything else by thoughtful Americans.

On the Cartoon show segment titled “Morning Joe,” with radical leftist Joe Scarborough- show host Mehdi Hasan talked to Shadi Hamid about the ‘end of Democracy’, and the MSNBC employee made shocking and outrageously untrue statements, including pushing the lies that Black Americans are not allowed to vote.

Hasan, before talking about Black Americans, talked about another complete fantasy:

“Trump is something that is not normal. He’s a threat to democracy is not just anti-immigration. He wanted to build a moat, put alligators in it, and shoot immigrants in the legs. If that is not fascism, I don’t know what is…”

Yet there are no examples of Trump saying anything like that. and no examples given of any Black American who has been denied the opportunity to vote.

Here is a partial transcript :

HASAN: “Do you believe the 2024 election will be a free and fair election if Black people are denied the right to vote?”

HAMID: “Black people are denied the right to vote? That’s the first I’ve heard…”

    HASAN: “Sorry, what?”

  • CCP Businessmen Linked Intelligence Services Plowed Almost $11 Million Into A Joint Venture With Hunter Biden

CCP Businessmen Linked Intelligence Services Plowed Almost $11 Million Into A Joint Venture With Hunter Biden

“Like I have been saying . . . . Keep the faith, people. The worm has turned,” Jack Maxey posted on GETTR. Maxey is the source of hand delivering the contents of Hunter Biden’s laptop to US Senator Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa).

Fox News covered the worm-turning news:

This is from the Daily Mail report from Thursday:

The records were sent by the senators to a Delaware prosecutor investigating Hunter’s potentially criminal business dealings with foreign nations.

Grassley and Johnson accompanied the ream of records with an excoriating letter slamming the federal prosecutor, David Weiss, for ‘failure to respond to our legitimate congressional oversight requests’.

The lawmakers say the documents uncovered in their long investigation lay out ‘the Biden family’s connections to the Chinese regime and persons connected to its military and intelligence elements.’

DailyMail.com’s analysis of hundreds of bank statements included in the Hunter Biden investigation details how the president’s son, his Uncle Jim Biden, and his Chinese business partners extracted cash from an $11million payout to a bank account for Hudson West III, LLC – a company jointly owned by Hunter’s firm Owasco PC and a CEFC subsidiary. Records show Hunter and Jim’s companies received a total of $4,968,220.01 from Hudson West. Hunter, Jim, and his wife Sara also got access to Bank of Omaha credit cards funded by CEFC to the tune of $101,098.61.

CEFC manager Gongwen Dong was paid a total $123,319.68 over the 14-month period in the bank statements, and another CEFC executive firm (ColdHarbour Capital) got $318,286.37. There were also eight payments totaling $29,795.84 to JiaQi Bao, a glamorous young staffer for the joint venture who was close to Hudson.

The bank records and documents track the money flow from Hunter Biden’s Chinese business partners to members of the Biden family between September 2017 and November 2018

They say the evidence amounts to ‘potential criminal financial activity with respect to Hunter and James Biden,’ – President Joe Biden’s brother who goes by ‘Jim’, who took part in the Chinese joint venture.

The senators are concerned Weiss is dragging his feet and not conducting a thorough investigation of the president’s son, or that the probe has been hamstrung by the Department of Justice.

Their data dump comes less than two weeks before the congressional midterm elections.

If Republicans win back control of the House, they are poised to launch their investigation into the Bidens, backed by subpoena powers that control would afford them.

An analysis of the hundreds of pages of bank statements by DailyMail.com shows Hunter’s Chinese business partners transferred a total $10,736,413.50 to a Cathay Bank account for Hudson West III LLC, a company jointly owned by Hunter’s firm Owasco PC and a CEFC subsidiary, between September 2017 and November 2018.

As CEFC poured millions into the joint venture, Hunter and Jim extracted the cash, paying themselves $100,000 and $65,000 monthly salaries respectively.

The operating agreement for the Delaware-incorporated company released by the senators says Hunter would receive a $500,000 ‘one-time retainer fee’ too.

Hunter, his uncle and Jim’s wife Sara got access to credit cards funded by CEFC to the tune of $101,098.61, which they used for a spending spree of Apple products, hotels and restaurants.

And CEFC executive Patrick Ho paid Hunter $1million from the company’s funds as a retainer after he hired the First Son as his lawyer, following his arrest by US law enforcement in November 2017 on bribery and money laundering charges.

The report by the senators said Hunter and Jim’s companies received a total of $4,968,220.01 from Hudson West.

  • Panic Is Unfolding 12 Days Before End Of Election, Stage Being Set For Legal Battles, America First Legal Is In The Mix

Panic Is Unfolding 12 Days Before End Of Election, Stage Being Set For Legal Battles, America First Legal Is In The Mix

America knows that Democrats refuse to accept election results when they don’t like the results, and media reports are showing that the RNC is preparing for a ‘Red Tusanmi’ blowout – and they are allegedly saving their money the consequences of such a thing- planning on the Democrats denying the results.

America First’s, Stephen Miller, a good friend to President Donald J. Trump, is involved in what the RNC is doing, so perhaps it will be something more than just promoting RINOS. Time will tell.

A little background on how Dems deny election results:

From a Thursday left-leaning AP report:

Election Day is 12 days away. But in courtrooms across the country, efforts to sow doubt over the outcome have already begun.

More than 100 lawsuits have been filed this year around the Nov. 8 elections. The legal challenges, largely by Republicans, target rules for mail-in voting, early voting, voter access, voting machines, voting registration, the counting of mismarked absentee ballots and access for partisan poll watchers.

The cases likely preview a potentially contentious post-election period and the strategy stems partly from the failure of Donald Trump and his allies to prevail in overturning the free and fair results of the 2020 presidential election that he lost to Joe Biden.

That was an ad hoc response fronted by a collection of increasingly ill-prepared lawyers that included Rudy Giuliani. The current effort, however, is more formalized, well-funded and well-organized and is run by the Republican National Committee and other legal allies with strong credentials. Party officials say they are preparing for recounts, contested elections and more litigation. Thousands of volunteers are ready to challenge ballots and search for evidence of malfeasance.

“We’re now at the point where charges of fraud and suppression are baked into the turnout models for each party,” said Benjamin Ginsberg, co-chair of the Election Official Legal Defense Network and former counsel to the George W. Bush campaign and other Republican candidates. “Republicans charge fraud. Democrats charge suppression. Each side amplifies its position with massive and costly amounts of litigation and messaging.”

The RNC said it has a multimillion-dollar “election integrity” team. It has hired 37 lawyers in key states, held more than 5,000 training sessions to teach volunteers to look for voter fraud — which is rare and isolated — and filed 73 suits in 20 states. Other Trump-allied legal teams, including America First Legal, run by former Trump adviser Stephen Miller, are involved.

“We built an unprecedented election integrity ground game to ensure that November’s midterm elections are free, fair and transparent,” the RNC chairwoman, Ronna McDaniel, said last month.

Elections 2022: The Battle for Congress

The November midterm elections will determine which parties take control over the House and the Senate, ultimately defining the fate of President Joe Biden’s legislative agenda.

The Democrats’ legal effort focuses on making voting easier and helping those denied a chance to vote. A team led by lawyer Marc Elias and his firm is litigating roughly 40 cases in 19 states, though many are interventions in Republican-led suits.

Elias said he is bracing for a deluge of challenges to election results. Some Republican candidates have already said they will not accept a loss or have planted doubt on the election process despite no evidence of fraud.

“The problem with the Republican Party right now is that conceding you lost an election is the only thing that will hurt you,” Elias said. “Contesting an election that is clearly lost is now where all the incentive structure is, and that is incredibly corrosive for democracy.”

Almost every election begets legal challenges. But much of that generally comes after Election Day.

In 2020, pro-Trump lawyers filed roughly 60 suits and asked judges to set aside votes. Those suits were roundly rejected. Trump’s own leadership found the election was fair, and state election officials saw no widespread evidence of fraud. Biden earned 306 electoral votes to Trump’s 232, the same margin as Trump’s victory over Hillary Clinton in 2016, when he called it a “landslide.”

Meta Suffers Staggering Overnight Plummet as Zuckerberg Doubles Down on ‘Terrifying’ Strategy

October 27, 2022 at 03:56PM Meta Suffers Staggering Overnight Plummet as Zuckerberg Doubles Down on ‘Terrifying’ Strategy

Meta stock plunged Thursday in pre-market trading as investors seeking profits are losing patience with the underperforming company.
As of 9:30 a.m Eastern Time, Meta’s stock was at $98.45 per share, down over 31 percent from Wednesday’s close, according to Yahoo Finance.

Investors are grumpy over the ever-increasing costs of Meta’s virtual reality projects that are not paying out a significant return on a mammoth investment.

Reuters quoted analysts it did not name as saying Meta’s investments were “confusing and confounding” and its inability to cut costs “extremely disturbing.”

“The roll out and take up of the group’s virtual reality products leaves a lot to be desired, despite the seemingly never-ending upwards spiral of the research and development budget,” Sophie Lund-Yates, Hargreaves Lansdown’s lead equity analyst, said, according to Business Insider

Meta shareholder Altimeter Capital Management, a technology-focused hedge fund, wants Meta to cut its metaverse investments in half from the current annual level of $10 billion.

Altimeter said such huge investments “in an unknown future is super-sized and terrifying, even by Silicon Valley standards,” according to Reuters.

Meta, the parent company of Facebook, said costs could rise 16 percent next year and that losses at Reality Labs, where metaverse research and development is taking place,  “will grow significantly” next year.

Will Americans change their technology habits if the economy tanks?

    Yes: 67% (34 Votes)

    No: 33% (17 Votes)

Reality Labs lost $5.8 billion in the first six months of the year. Its third-quarter losses amounted to $3.67 billion, according to Reuters.

During a conference call, Jefferies analyst Brent Thill told Meta executives, “I think kind of summing up how investors are feeling right now is that there are just too many experimental bets versus proven bets on the core … I think everyone would love to hear why you think this pays off.”

CEO Mark Zuckerberg said he was staying the course.

“It would be a mistake for us to not focus on any of these areas that will be fundamentally important to our future,” he said.

“I know that sometimes when we ship a product … people say: ‘Hey, you’re spending all this money, and you’ve produced this thing,’ and I think that’s not really the right way to think about it.”

“We’re doing leading work that will become … eventually mature products at different cadences in different periods of time over the next five to 10 years,” he said.

Zuckerberg touted a $1,500 virtual and mixed reality headset called Quest Pro and a social metaverse platform where people use avatars to express themselves.

Paolo Pescatore, an analyst at PP Foresight, was not sold.

“The metaverse … feels like … one big gamble given the economic crisis,” he said.

“People are not rushing out of their seats to buy a VR headset or even watch 360-degree videos … The new device still feels like an expensive toy,” he said.

As noted by Business Insider, Meta’s shares were down just over 61 percent for the year, even before Thursday’s erosion.

A slowdown in digital advertising linked to the economic slowdown is impacting all tech platforms. Alphabet, the parent of Google, suffered a fall in its stock price after a Wednesday report indicating a revenue decline from YouTube and Google Network.
