Brazilian President Questions Joe Biden’s Legitimacy Ahead Of Visit

June 8, 2022 at 05:39AM Brazilian President Questions Joe Biden’s Legitimacy Ahead Of Visit

Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro is traveling to the Summit of the Americas in Los Angeles which is being hosted by the Biden administration.

Two days before he is set to meet with Biden he questioned Joe Biden’s legitimacy. Bolsonaro said “I will not discuss the sovereignty of another country. But Trump was doing really well.”

    From Reuters:

Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro on Tuesday cast doubt on the 2020 election victory of U.S. President Joe Biden, just two days before they are due to meet for the first time during the Summit of the Americas.

Bolsonaro, an outspoken admirer of former President Donald Trump, said in a TV interview that he still harbors suspicions about Biden’s victory and he again praised Trump’s government.

    …

“The American people are the ones who talk about it (election fraud). I will not discuss the sovereignty of another country. But Trump was doing really well,” Bolsonaro said.

“We don’t want that to happen in Brazil,” he added.

It is unclear how Joe Biden will respond to this.

  • Food Shortages and Food Processing Plant Fires – What’s Going On?

Food Shortages and Food Processing Plant Fires – What’s Going On?

June 8, 2022 at 05:14AM Food Shortages and Food Processing Plant Fires – What’s Going On? – UncoverDC

Though rarely reported by mainstream news, there have been an unusual number of significant fires in food processing facilities around the country this year and even going back into last year. The fires are starting to give rise to noteworthy chatter online, especially as the Biden administration—whose policies largely support the ‘great reset‘ agenda pushed by the World Economic Forum and the World Health Organization—warns us about food shortages.

Interestingly, the fires caught the attention of Tucker Carlson of Fox News, who discussed several of the blazes last night. Speaking of a plane that crashed at a General Mills plant in Georgia yesterday, here’s part of what Carlson had to say:

“This is the second time in a week something like this has happened. On April 14th, a plane crashed into the Gem State Processing potato facility in Eastern Idaho. What’s going on here?

Well, the story gets weirder. Food processing plants all over the country seem to be catching fire. A couple of days ago, a fire destroyed the headquarters of Azure Standard—one of the largest organic food distributors in the country. At the end of last month, a fire severely damaged a fresh onion packing facility in South Texas. In Oregon and a potato chip processing plant had a boiler explosion that sent workers to the hospital.

So industrial accidents happen, of course, but this is a lot of industrial accidents at food processing facilities happening at the same time the President is warning us about food shortages. They’re getting hit by planes and catching fire. What is going on here, exactly?”

UncoverDC confirmed over two dozen facilities linked to our food supply were impacted by fires, 19 of them happening this year. There could be more. While there has been no concrete evidence that any of the fires are connected or were intentionally set, we felt it relevant to list them, especially since Bill Gates is the largest owner of farmland in the United States. Here they are, with a brief description of what we found out about each one.

April 21, 2022, General Mills Plant, Covington, GA; Two people died after a plane crashed into an empty lot at a General Mills plant in Covington, GA, used to store tractor-trailers. Witnesses believe the aircraft had trouble gaining altitude when it suddenly veered right and immediately came down into the lot. The plane appeared to explode upon impact, catching several empty trailers on fire due to the crash. The police captain said that many lives were saved because the plane did not directly crash into the plant, as it crashed about 300 feet away from the plant. The NTSB is investigating the crash.

April 18, 2022, Azure Standard, Dufur, OR; The headquarters of Azure Standard, a premier independent distributor of organic and healthy food, was destroyed by fire. There were no injuries. The cause of the fire is unknown and under investigation. Local news reported that records from the local Sheriff’s log stated, “Lights flickered; They heard a pop and went up there to check it out, and there was a fire.” According to founder and CEO David Stelzer, the loss of the facility and the impact on companywide operations are being assessed and expected to be limited and temporary. No other Azure Standard facilities were affected.

April 13, 2022, Gem State Processing, Heyburn, ID; An experienced UPS pilot’s plane crashed into the roof of the potato and food processing plant, killing the pilot instantly. The facility sources 18,000 acres of Idaho potatoes. The distraught father of pilot Brittney Infanger, 30, said his daughter knew the area well and often flew into the airport near the plant. He added, “There’s a 60-foot chimney sticking out of the food processing plant—no lights on it, dead center—straight across the runway. So whenever you come in, you have to fly over the top of this and drop down. The airport needs to be closed, period.”

April 13, 2022, Taylor Farms, Salinas, CA; Reports say the fire started in a wall and spread rapidly to the attic at the 225,000 processing plant, a major producer of fruits and vegetables. More than 100 firefighters were needed to contain the blaze as there were concerns of an ammonia explosion at the plant. It is believed the plant stored 40,000 gallons of ammonia. For over 27 years, Taylor Farms, with nearly 22,000 employees, has built a network of 20 facilities across America. As the company navigates rebuilding the Salinas plant, they are currently moving into another space in Salinas. They are grateful that their Yuma, AZ plant is fully operational.

April 11, 2022, East Conway Beef & Pork, Conway, N.H.; A massive fire destroyed the butcher shop and meat market. Neighbors helped to corral cattle freed when the fire broke out. Investigators from the NH Fire Marshal’s Office are still trying to figure out how the fire started. The same facility burned ten years ago.

March 31, 2022, Rio Fresh Inc., San Juan, TX; The third-generation family farming operation grows, packs, and ships many Texas-grown items, including Texas 1015 sweet onions and cabbage, kale, melons, and greens. The “massive fire” overtook the company’s 100,000 square foot new fresh onion packing facility, considered the state’s largest. The cause of the structure fire is still under investigation.

March 28, 2022, Maricopa, AZ Food Pantry; A reported 50,000 pounds of food were destroyed after a fire engulfed the food bank just 15 minutes after it had closed. The twenty-year-old food pantry has provided weekly meals for nearly 1,200 families. The organization plans to replace the trailers with a warehouse that will also serve as a soup kitchen to feed the hungry. Thunderbird Fire Chief Alan Allcott said he is not sure of the cause, noting there are indications that an animal under one of the trailers may have chewed and shorted out some of the wires, causing the blaze.

March 24, 2022, Penobscot McCrum Potato Processing Facility, Belfast, Maine; The massive fire, which is reported to have started in one of the fryolator machines, caused smoke so thick that active flames weren’t visible. The McCrum family plants, grows, cares for, harvests, stores, ships, and processes potatoes. The family is still determining the next steps for the factory and how to support its employees.

March 16, 2022, Walmart Distribution Center, Plainfield, IN; Smoke from the large fire in the 1.2 million sq. ft. warehouse was visible for several miles. In addition to food, the warehouse contained various items set for distribution, including clothing, electronics, and shipping materials. Thirty agencies responded to assist the Plainfield Fire Department in putting out the fire, with crews working in 4-6 hour shifts each to stay fresh while fighting the blaze. The investigation into the cause of the fire involved the AFT, who reported that the investigation into the cause of the fire could take weeks or months.

March 16, 2022, Nestlé Jonesboro plant, Jonesboro, AK; A fire with an explosion caused extensive damage to the new production line at the Nestlé Jonesboro plant, which produces frozen foods for the Stouffer’s, Lean Cuisine, Digiorno, Tombstone, Hot Pockets, and Sweet Earth brands. None of the company’s 800 employees were injured, and the facility remains closed to assess the damages and determine the cause of the fire. Ryan White, an employee for Nestle, said he is counting his blessings after being released from his 12-hour shift at the production line six hours early. He said, “If we would’ve stayed, we would’ve been right in the line of that fire.” Local news reports said the facility—opened in 2002—suffered “significant damage” to a new Hot Pockets production line added in 2021 in a $100 million investment.

March 14, 2022, Wayne Hoover dairy farm; Longswamp Township, PA; More than 20 fire companies responded to the massive fire at the Berks County farm, which was destroyed by the blaze. The 42 cows in the barn all managed to get out safely, but sadly one cow died of stress in transport to another farm. The state fire marshal ruled the barn fire an accident, saying it appears to have started due to electrical activity.

February 28, 2022, Nutrien Ag Solutions, Sunnyside, WA; A tremendous commercial structure fire at the fertilizer facility started from smoldering sulfur, according to reports. An 18,000 sq ft. storage building at the plant was destroyed by the fire, and no one was injured. More than 1.7 million pounds of sulfur burned—though fire officials were more concerned with the hazardous ammonium sulfate. Authorities say 236,000 lbs of the substance, considered the most dangerous chemical in the plant, burned early into the blaze. The fire occurred shortly after a load of sulfur was deposited in the building. Sunnyside fire chief said the fire department believes the fire was mechanical, but there isn’t a way to know for sure because the fire damaged the machinery used to unload the sulfur. The facility is back in operation except for the dry fertilizer shed and the liquid fertilizer load-out area.

February 28, 2022, Shadow Brook Farm and Dutch Girl Creamery; Lincoln, NE; The 4:30 fire gutted the $200,000 facility and landed one of the owners in the hospital. According to the State Fire Marshall, the fire was accidental and electrical in nature. The farm owners are determined to reopen their cheese facility, which lost $80,000 worth of cheese and $8,000 of seeds in the blaze.

February 22, 2022, Shearer’s Foods, Hermiston, OR; a massive explosion and fire destroyed the potato chip plant. Two weeks after the fire, the company had laid off all of its nearly 250 employees. The company is exploring its options, noting that it will take at least 15-18 months to rebuild to the point of resuming production. The fire is believed to have been caused by the explosion of a portable natural gas-powered boiler.

February 19, 2022, Lincoln Premium Poultry, Fremont, NE; Three people were injured and one hospitalized after an ammonia leak at the plant, which supplied Costco with chicken products. The Fremont Fire Department reported the leak began around 7:45 pm and “occurred due to a contractor working on a project.”

February 18, 2022, Bess View Farm, St. Albans, VT; The fire, believed to have begun around 2 am in the milking parlor, destroyed a barn and displaced nearly 800 cows. Thankfully, no one, including the animals, was injured due to the fire. Within hours, farmers in the surrounding area and throughout the state stepped in to support the owners and take care of the cows. It is unclear what caused the fire if it started in the milking parlor.

February 16, 2022, Louis Dreyfus Company (LDC), Claypool, IN; A fire broke out at the largest soybean and biodiesel processing plant in the United States, doing an “undetermined” amount of damage. Reuters reported that “the suspension of deliveries could slow production of soymeal and biodiesel at a time of high demand,” adding, “Maintenance shutdowns at plants in Iowa and Minnesota in recent months have contributed to soaring prices for the animal feed and biofuel.” The facility, upgraded in 2020 to add two new storage barns that each hold up to 3 million bushels, is back open, and the cause of the fire remains undisclosed.

February 3, 2022, Percy Dairy Farm, Stowe, VT; The 911 call for the fire came in around 11:30 pm. It took nine fire departments over six hours to fully knock the fire down. Over 100 cows were killed in the blaze. The cause of the fire has not been disclosed. Owner Paul Percy, who was away on a fishing trip when it happened, said he has insurance to cover the cows but has no place to put them at the moment. He is waiting on the insurance adjuster, noting they will “probably rebuild something somewhere.”

January 31, 2022, Fertilizer Plant, Winston Salem, NC; About 6,500 people were under evacuation orders for three days after a fire broke out at a North Carolina fertilizer plant, which officials said risked becoming one of the biggest explosions ever to occur in the US. Ammonium nitrate is apparently to blame, with the environmental group Earthjustice calling the disaster “entirely preventable” had the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) strengthened federal regulation.

January 13, 2022, Cargill-Nutrena feed mill, Lecompte, LA; A fire started in the early hours of the morning and burned for over 12 hours. An explosion occurred as firefighters were working the fire. The 140,000-ton mill manufactures feed for pet food, aquaculture, equine, beef, poultry, dairy, and wild game industries. The cause of the fire is unknown and remains under investigation.

December 12, 2021, West Side food processing plant, San Antonio, TX; An unnamed food processing plant suffered over $100,000 in damages to food supplies resulting from a cooler that caught on fire. The cause of the fire is currently unknown.

November 29, 2021, Maid-Rite Steak Co. Inc., Scott Township, PA; The cause of the fire, which damaged much of the meat processing area, was ruled an accident. Maid-Rite Specialty Foods has become one of the largest independent producers of USDA inspected frozen meats in the United States. Authorities stated they think the fire started in a wall. The company’s human resources director says the building was evacuated after the fire broke out, and everyone was accounted for. Scott Township Fire Chief Matt Pritchyk says a nearby pump did not work, so he called in tanker trucks to retrieve water from a nearby pond.

November 15, 2021, Garrard County Food Pantry in Lancaster, KY; Result of arson with a 100% loss. 60-year-old Debra Smalling was charged with setting the fire by throwing a lit cigarette into a pile of papers that she was seen rummaging through. Court documents stated she admitted throwing a lit cigarette butt into that pile. The pantry supplied over a million pounds of food to hundreds for years. The community rallied together, and the pantry is now operating out of a new home.

August 23, 2021, Patak Meat Products, Austell, GA; Located in Cobb County, the family-owned company specializes in fine European meats in sausages with customers spread across the country. The fire broke out in the center of the building, causing severe damage. According to a fire department spokesman, the fire was under investigation, “with no foul play suspected.” The business is still rebuilding and is not yet reopened, but its online store offers products in the meantime. While devastating, the company has decided to implement significant upgrades to machinery and technology as they rebuild.

July 30, 2021, Tyson River Valley Ingredients Plant, Hanceville, AL; The 121,000 sq. foot plant serviced poultry processors in AL and neighboring states by breaking down and cooking leftover chicken parts into proteins and fats for animal feed and pet food. The plant suffered a total loss. The cause of the fire remains unclear. Tyson recently announced its plans to replace the plant with a new $208 million facility adjacent to the one that burned down and plans to retain all 124 employees throughout the construction period. The new plant is set to be operational in mid-2023.

  • San Francisco DA Chesa Boudin recalled in blow to progressives

San Francisco DA Chesa Boudin recalled in blow to progressives

June 8, 2022 at 04:09AM San Francisco DA Chesa Boudin recalled in blow to progressives

San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Boudin looks on during a news conference on May 10, 2022, in San Francisco, Calif.

San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Boudin was projected to be ousted in a recall Wednesday, marking a stunning setback for progressive advocates of criminal justice reform.

The Associated Press called the race around 12:04 a.m. ET.

Boudin’s loss is the latest and loudest signal that voters’ appetites for reform is softening amid a nationwide spike in violent crime. His replacement will now be chosen by Mayor London Breed (D), who is expected to tap someone with a more moderate reputation.

Boudin first took office in early 2020 and ran on a slew of progressive promises, including to end cash bail, stop the practice of prosecuting children as adults and offer defendants the chance to enter a rehabilitation program rather than prison.

Crime has remained roughly the same in San Francisco since Boudin first entered the job, and no evidence has emerged to link his policies to violent crime.

That appears to make Boudin a victim to a national environment in which more voters are concerned about rising crime in many major cities, making them less eager for the types of change Boudin ran on.

The issue is particularly potent in San Francisco, which has grappling with a stubborn homelessness problem, a rash of burglaries and open-air drug markets. Compounding that are rumors of a tense relationship between Boudin and the San Francisco Police Department.

Boudin tried to fight off the effort by casting it as “Trumpian,” at times noting that one of the recall’s biggest backers is William Oberndorf, a conservative businessman. However, polls prior to the recall showed Boudin falling behind.

Boudin’s defeat marks the latest setback for a criminal justice reform movement that in recent years was buoyed by backlash against police killings of Black men only to later be rebuked by Democrats as a reason for key congressional losses, including in some 2020 House races.

    DHS WARNS: VIOLENT MONTHS AHEAD

June 7, 2022 at 04:54PM DHS bulletin warns of ‘heightened threat environment,’ violent months ahead

The Department of Homeland Security issued a bulletin Tuesday warning of a “heightened threat environment” over the next several months as they monitor both risks of domestic terrorism and foreign adversaries looking to sow discord within the U.S. to promote acts of violence.

“The United States remains in a heightened threat environment, as noted in the previous Bulletin, and several recent attacks have highlighted the dynamic and complex nature of the threat environment,” DHS said in a new bulletin from the National Terrorism Advisory System.

“In the coming months, we expect the threat environment to become more dynamic as several high-profile events could be exploited to justify acts of violence against a range of possible targets,” DHS said.

The bulletin listed potential targets to include “public gatherings, faith-based institutions, schools, racial and religious minorities, government facilities and personnel, U.S. critical infrastructure, the media, and perceived ideological opponents.”

“Threat actors have recently mobilized to violence due to factors such as personal grievances, reactions to current events, and adherence to violent extremist ideologies, including racially or ethnically motivated or anti-government/anti-authority violent extremism,” DHS said.

The department stressed that “foreign adversaries—including terrorist organizations and nation state adversaries—also remain intent on exploiting the threat environment to promote or inspire violence, sow discord, or undermine U.S. democratic institutions.”

“We continue to assess that the primary threat of mass casualty violence in the United States stems from lone offenders and small groups motivated by a range of ideological beliefs and/or personal grievances,” the bulletin said.

DHS pointed to several recent high-profile events including the mass shooting in Buffalo, New York, where the suspect in the grocery store attack allegedly claimed that he was motivated by racist, anti-Black, and anti-Semitic conspiracy theories. It also referred another May shooting attack in Laguna Woods, California, that targeted congregants of a church that serves the Taiwanese community.

The department said it is monitoring onling forums following the mass shooting at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas, that have been encouraging copycat attacks.

The bulletin noted how pro-al-Qa‘ida and ISIS users online have celebrated the April subway mass shooting in Brooklyn, New York, and the January hostage situation at a synagogue in Colleyville, Texas, carried out by a British national in an attempt to inspire U.S. based individuals to engage in violent activity.

The update from DHS Tuesday reiterated from its previous bulletin that individuals both for and against abortion online have advocated for violence against government, religious, and reproductive healthcare personnel, and facilities in response to the high-profile U.S. Supreme Court case.

“Chinese, Iranian, Russian, and other foreign malign influence actors have sought to contribute to U.S. internal discord and weaken its focus and position internationally,” the DHS said. “As the U.S. 2022 mid-term elections approach, malign foreign actors could bolster their messaging to sow discord and influence U.S. audiences in keeping with practices during previous election cycles.”

The bulletin noted how foreign actors have amplified narratives promoting societal division in the U.S., including since the onset of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine.

  • Another Brit Recommends Gun-Grab: BBC Reporter – U.S. Should Just Ban All Guns

Another Brit Recommends Gun-Grab: BBC Reporter – U.S. Should Just Ban All Guns

Video: BBC Reporter To MSNBC – U.S. Should Just Ban All Guns

Appearing on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, a BBC reporter appeared completely confounded as to why the U.S. government hasn’t just banned guns altogether like the UK did in the 1990s.

BBC reporter Katty Kay, who was brought on to talk about the Queen’s Jubilee, was used by Joe Scarborough to hammer home the point that all the British people he knows keep asking him “what’s wrong with you Americans and your guns?”

“The contrast, and it’s between the United States and Great Britain, is so striking, considering we share so much in common,” Scarborough continued, adding “But in this one area, it’s just — the difference is just shocking, isn’t it?”

Kay agreed, adding “this is making it very hard for allies of America, friends of America, people who love this country as I do, who’ve lived here for very long, to defend the country at the moment, when every single morning, we wake up and there is another mass shooting.”

She continued, “we keep getting asked, what is going on in that country? Why can’t they fix this? In the UK, you know this, Joe, they fixed it.”

“It was a conservative government that fixed the United Kingdom’s gun problem in 1980 after a mass shooting. They banned assault weapons,” Kay proclaimed.

The reporter added that “In the 1990s, they banned handguns after one school shooting. It’s all it took, in Dunblain, Scotland, and the United Kingdom banned handguns. It now has amongst the lowest rate of gun deaths of any westernized countries.”

“No other Western country tolerates this,” Kay further declared.

    Watch:

Last week Joe Biden announced an intention to bring about sweeping gun control measures, including a ban on “assault weapons” and “high capacity” magazines, as well as red flag laws, new laws on background checks and storage, and a vow to “repeal the immunity of gun manufacturers from liability.”

Biden claimed during his speech that he wasn’t taking away anyone’s rights.

  • Trump To Declare 2024 Candidacy July 4th

Trump To Declare 2024 Candidacy July 4th

June 7, 2022 at 07:07AM Report: Trump Toying With Declaring Campaign For President Early

We are getting closer and closer to 45th President Donald Trump running for President in 2024.

A new report is claiming that President Donald Trump is considering declaring he will run for President in 2024 early.

    From Business Insider:

Former President Donald Trump has been thinking about declaring a 2024 presidential bid early, according to NBC News.

While the consensus in GOP circles has been that Trump would hold off on annoucing any formal decision until after the 2022 midterm elections in November, some advisors told NBC that may be shifting.

Jason Miller, the CEO of Gettr and a former top Trump White House aide, explained why an early announcement could be advantageous for the former president.

“I’ve laid out my case on why I think he should do it,” Miller told NBC. “I think that there being clarity about what his intentions are [is important] so he can start building that operation while it’s still fresh in people’s minds and they’re still active — a lot of that can be converted into 2024 action.”

It could be as early as July 4th:

    From NBC:

One question is “whether he can sort of suppress his excitement about a 2024 rematch and not, say, go ahead and put that statement out … and waits for a big event, a big speech to do it,” the second adviser said. “A betting person says he’s doing it, and he also wants to crowd out the rest of the field.”

Two people in Trump’s orbit told NBC News they had been asked informally to hold July 4 as a date for a possible announcement, but Miller — noting that Trump hasn’t yet decided to run — said it is “not true” that the day has been reserved, even unofficially, for a launch.

Without specifically addressing the question of timing, Trump spokesman Taylor Budowich said in a text exchange with NBC News that he sees growing public appetite for a Trump comeback.

“America was strong, prosperous and greatly respected under President Trump, and that’s why he continues to have unprecedented strength through his endorsement record and the demand for his leadership has never been higher,” Budowich said.

  • Columbus Ohio Reveals Scheme to Regulate Guns Through Board Of Health

Columbus Ohio Reveals Scheme to Regulate Guns Through Board Of Health

The Ohio Legislature has made it crystal clear that it wants ONE set of consistent firearm laws across the state, and it has specifically forbidden municipalities from regulating guns in any manner.

However, even though the state’s “preemption” law, spelled out in Ohio Revised Code 9.68, has been in force since March 2007 and was further strengthened in 2019, and even though the law has withstood court challenges, the City of Columbus continues to look for ways to regulate guns locally.

On February 15, 2022, Columbus Mayor Andrew Ginther declared gun violence a “public health crisis.” He also said this declaration was just the “first step.” While it was unclear at the time what that meant, we may now have a better idea of what Columbus officials are planning.

On May 17, 2022, during an online meeting of the Columbus Board of Health, Columbus City Attorney Zach Klein and Solicitor General Rich Coglianese presented a scheme to regulate guns through health orders.

You can watch the meeting video for yourself here, courtesy of ABC 6. Klein’s comments start at about 31 minutes, Coglianese’s at about 37 minutes.

Klein bemoans that Ohio cities are unable to regulate guns because of the state’s “preemption” law, and he admits that the goal is to look for loopholes and exceptions. He also says that because Mayor Ginther has declared gun violence a “public health crisis,” they now have an opportunity to “act.”

Klein then introduces Solicitor General Rich Coglianese to explain their legal argument. According to Coglianese, there is a loophole in Ohio law which can be exploited by the Columbus Board of Health to regulate guns as a public “nuisance.”

Here are the details of the argument:

R.C. 3707.01(B) says, “The board of health of a city or general health district shall abate and remove all nuisances within its jurisdiction.” So what is a nuisance? According to Coglianese, the answer lies in a 20-year-old Ohio Supreme Court case where Cincinnati wanted to hold gun manufacturers liable for the costs of gun violence.

He cites Cincinnati v. Beretta USA Corp., 95 Ohio St. 3d 416 ¶8 (2002) as a basis for considering guns a “public nuisance,” which is defined as an “…unreasonable interference with a right common to the general public.”

From the same case, he further cites the definition of “unreasonable interference” to include “… those acts that significantly interfere with public health, safety, peace, comfort, or convenience, conduct that is contrary to a statute, ordinance, or regulation, or conduct that is of a continuing nature or one which has produced a permanent or long-lasting effect upon the public right, an effect of which the actor is aware or should be aware.”

So if the city can show that guns interfere with “public health, safety, peace,” etc. and have a “permanent or long-lasting effect,” guns can be considered a nuisance and regulated under the authority of the Board of Health.

What about Ohio’s “preemption” law in R.C. 9.68 that prohibits local regulation of guns? Coglianese says there’s a loophole because the law allows cities to mirror state and federal laws where it says, “Except as specifically provided by the United States Constitution, Ohio Constitution, state law, or federal law ….”

In other words, Coglianese concludes R.C. 9.68 would actually allow a municipal board of health to enact a local law to mirror state law on the matter of abating and removing guns as a public nuisance.

Coglianese also dispenses with SB 22, a law passed last year to rein in the authority of health orders. He claims that while that law prohibits orders or regulations directed at a class of persons, it allows orders or regulations aimed at specific persons, and that gun owners could be considered “specific” rather than a class of persons. In addition, he argues that SB 22 does not mention any limitation on the regulation of items or property, such as firearms.

According to other comments during this meeting, the Columbus Board of Health, along with the city attorneys, will continue exploring this gun regulation scheme in the coming months. It seems their next step may be to collect data to demonstrate that guns interfere with “public health” and have a “permanent or long-lasting effect.” And then on that basis, empower the Board of Health to take action.

Exactly what sort of action? If I were to be generous, I might assume that they merely intend to get guns out of the hands of those who are legally disqualified from possessing them. But if that were the case, why not just enforce current law? Why look for loopholes and mount clever legal arguments?

Given the history of Columbus, it’s more likely that their intent is to enact rifle bans, magazine bans, red flag laws, waiting periods, universal background checks, and so on. And they’re likely to prohibit permitless carry as well.

Aren’t they afraid of violating state law or concerned about being sued? Not likely. They’ve flouted state law before, so they won’t be shy about doing it again. And from their point of view, who cares if they get sued? They can just use public tax dollars to litigate. It doesn’t matter if they lose, because they’re spending other people’s money.

It is no secret that Columbus leaders want the power to pass their own gun laws and have challenged state law repeatedly, including passing illegal gun control laws and even filing suit against the State of Ohio to overturn preemption.

So what can we do about this?

Buckeye Firearms Association is carefully studying the legal argument. And we will continue to watch Columbus and the Board of Health closely. However, be assured that we are committed to responding to his outrageous power grab if we believe there is any chance Columbus will actually move forward.

Whether we respond with legislation or litigation remains to be seen, but one thing is sure: We will NOT sit idly if Ohio’s capital city attempts to once again exceed its authority and infringe the rights of gun owners. We can’t. Because if Columbus gets away with this audacious scheme, other cities will do the same.

And if that happens, what’s the point of having a preemption law at all? If any city can simply declare guns a public nuisance and regulate guns through their board of health, we’re back to the patchwork of laws the Ohio legislature sought to eliminate in 2007. And ALL the work we’ve done for the past two decades evaporates.

If you want to tell the Columbus Board of Health to stop pursuing this unlawful scheme, you can call them at 614-645-7417 or email health@columbus.gov.

Biden Administration Declare National Emergency for Clean Energy Production, Invokes Defense Production Act to Facilitate Faster Transformation of Energy Economy Away from Fossil Fuels – The Last Refuge

    https://ift.tt/3YBUu84

Earlier today, Joe Biden, working toward the agenda of Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, Wall Street multinationals, and the radical climate change activists within the far left of the socialist democrat party, declared a national emergency around the issue of U.S. energy prices and policies. [SEE HERE]

On the front side of the justification, the people in control of the Biden administration, claim that current and future increases in energy prices are likely to do severe damage to the economy and the lives of all Americans.  However, in the background of the issue, this is the ‘never let a crisis go to waste’ phase of an energy crisis the administration has intentionally created.

The real goal is to fundamentally transform the foundation of the U.S. economy away from fossil fuels and into a new era of clean renewable energy. This is what all of the Biden cabinet officers now refer to as the “economic transition” phase.

Joe Biden’s executive announcement today is the triggering of increased federal government control over the United States energy system.

Ideological government intervention, completely disconnected from the free market, is facilitated by the declaration of a federal national emergency:

[WHITE HOUSE] – Today, President Biden is authorizing the use of the Defense Production Act (DPA) to accelerate domestic production of clean energy technologies – unlocking new powers to meet this moment. Specifically, the President is authorizing the Department of Energy to use the DPA to rapidly expand American manufacturing of five critical clean energy technologies:

      • Solar panel parts like photovoltaic modules and module components;
      • Building insulation;
      • Heat pumps, which heat and cool buildings super efficiently;
      • Equipment for making and using clean electricity-generated fuels, including electrolyzers, fuel cells, and related platinum group metals; and
      • Critical power grid infrastructure like transformers.

In deploying the DPA, the Biden-Harris Administration will strongly encourage the use of strong labor standards, including project labor agreements and community benefits agreements that offer wages at or above the prevailing rate and include local hire provisions. The Administration also will strongly encourage projects with environmental justice outcomes that empower the clean energy transition in low-income communities historically overburdened by legacy pollution.

Following this announcement, the White House and the Department of Energy will convene relevant industry, labor, environmental justice, and other key stakeholders as we maximize the impact of the DPA tools made available by President Biden’s actions and strengthen domestic clean energy manufacturing. The Biden administration then immediately triggered the Defense Production Act for the U.S. government to: (a) suspend tarrifs; and (b) take control over procurement for all key components needed in the transition from fossil fuel to solar energy.   The products will come from Southeast Asia as the main hub of solar equipment is not located within the United States. DPA Excerpt:

[…] exported from the Kingdom of Cambodia, Malaysia, the Kingdom of Thailand, and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, and that are not already subject to an antidumping or countervailing duty order as of the date of this proclamation, and to temporarily extend during the course of the emergency the time therein prescribed for the performance of any act related to such imports. The DPA emergency authorities have been given to the Dept of Commerce and the people working under Commerce Secretary Gina M. Raimondo, the former governor of Rhode Island.  Each of the DPA’s released today targets specific components of the solar industry [SOURCE LINK].

Obviously, this massive shift in the governmental takeover of energy development is part of facilitating the aforementioned “Green New Deal.”  The approach follows a pattern that is transparent for those who are capable of accepting things as they are, not as we would wish them to be.

Joe Biden shut down domestic energy development, cancelled pipelines, cancelled leases, retracted the ability to drill in ANWAR (Alaska), and triggered massive new regulatory approaches from the Commerce, Interior and Energy departments.  The resulting increases in oil, natural gas, gasoline, electricity and energy costs overall – which became fuel on the furnace of inflation, have now created the energy crisis that Joe Biden is declaring a national emergency to solve.

Biden himself has no idea what is happening; he is simply following the instructions of the policy operators who are in control of the administration.  It is the people in the circles of Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders and the climate change activists within the DC bureaucracy that are executing the nuts-and-bolts shifts.  They tell Biden what to do, and he cluelessly does it.  We are the people who end up paying the price for their effort.

It would appear the primary goal is to push everything as fast as possible beyond an infrastructure threshold that could be reversed if/when the radicals are rebuked by the victims, us.

The democrat-socialists are ‘all-in‘ on this economic kamikaze mission.

The radicals took off on inauguration day with a nuclear economic device and only enough fuel for a one-way trip.  They are nearing their destination.

Additionally, using the anniversary of June 6, 1944, is not coincidental.  These sickos and ideologues sit around worshipping sustainable algae cakes and giggling about this stuff.

  • Massive Migrant Caravan Heading For U.S. Border – Potentially Largest Ever

Massive Migrant Caravan Heading For U.S. Border – Potentially Largest Ever

June 6, 2022 at 04:31PM Massive Migrant Caravan Heading For U.S. Border: ‘Potentially Largest Ever’

Another massive migrant caravan described as “potentially the largest” ever is currently en route to the U.S. border, with some participants pointing to President Joe Biden’s statements among their reasons for coming.

One Haitian traveling with the caravan told Fox News he wants Biden to keep his promise to allow them to stay once they arrive.

“He promised the Haitian community he will help them,” the migrant said on Friday. “He will recall Title 42. He will help us have real asylum.”

    The outlet continued:

The migrant is taking part in a caravan that could become the largest ever to reach the U.S. southern border, with the current number of close to 10,000 migrants, is expected to swell to about 15,000 before it reaches the border.

The caravan departed Tapachula on the Mexico-Guatemala border on Monday. The migrants, which mostly come from Venezuela, Cuba and Nicaragua, will travel what is known as the coastal route to reach the U.S. border.

Fox News labeled the masses of migrants “potentially the largest caravan ever.”

“We consider we are around 9,500, it measures 5 1/2 km from the start to the end, people keep on joining, in the first police check there were approx 100-150 national guard, INM, state police and let us through freely,” the caravan’s organizer, Luis Villagran, told Fox News on Monday.

Their comments come as the Biden administration continues to wage legal war in its bid to end Title 42, a Trump-era rule that authorized rapid deportation of most illegal aliens, bypassing the typical legal process, due to the pandemic.

The intent of the rule was to slow the spread of the deadly virus, though President Trump was labeled a racist for implementing it. Earlier this year, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced it planned to lift the order.

“But a lawsuit filed by 24 states at least temporarily put plans to end the rule to a halt, with a Louisiana U.S. District Judge ruling that the restrictions can stay in place until the lawsuit is resolved,” Fox News noted. “The states have argued that lifting the rule would lead to a ‘wave of illegal migration and drug trafficking.’”

Critics have pointed fingers at President Biden for creating what has turned into a migrant crisis after reversing the vast majority of immigration and border security policies Trump implemented — which led to historic reductions in illegal crossings. Trump also managed to finance the construction of hundreds of miles of border wall, which some Border Patrol agents have said was helpful in curbing illegal crossings.

The results of his policy reversals are historic levels of illegal immigration and drug smuggling, which have been detrimental to his approval rating and may have led to a change of heart.

“Don’t leave your town or city or community,” Biden said in an interview with ABC last year. “We’re gonna make sure we have facilities in those cities and towns run by department of — by DHS and also access with HHS, the Health and Human Services, to say you can apply for asylum from where you are right now.”

But that said, Biden’s actions are speaking louder than his words. He has yet to re-impose Trump-era rules and his administration is continuing to argue against border security measures Trump enacted that Biden cannot quickly end.

That sends the message to migrants that it is still okay to try and make it to the U.S.

“Now we need him to keep his promise.” the Haitian migrant said.

Republican governors have attempted to give Biden a taste of his medicine.

Earlier this spring, Govs. Greg Abbott of Texas and Doug Ducey of Arizona began busing illegal migrants to Washington, D.C., as a means of keeping them out of their states and forcing the administration to have to deal with them directly.

“According to TDEM, Abbott’s plan is already working. The agency told Fox News on Monday that many of the communities that originally reached out for support – from the Rio Grande Valley to Terrell County – say the federal government stopped dropping immigrants in their towns since Abbott’s announcement on April 6,” the network reported separately in mid-April.
