Melinda Gates Drops Explosive News About Bill Gates, Jeffery Epstein

4 min read

Bill and Melinda Gates were married for 27 years and used their fortune to connect with many philanthropic causes. Bill, as the co-founder of Microsoft Corporation, continued to be high-profile in financial and philanthropic matters. The couple divorced last year and the legal action was final in August. Now, Melinda Gates has opened up about some of the aspects of her marriage to Gates and what she went through. One factor was Gates’ relationship with Jeffery Epstein.

Epstein died by suicide in August 2019 after being arrested on charges of sex trafficking and conspiracy to engage in sex trafficking.

When he was arrested, the world was appalled at the revelations that surrounded Epstein’s dealings. The owner of a secluded island near the Virgin Islands that was used for sex trafficking purposes, Epstein ran with an international crowd, including such big names as Britain’s Prince Andrew and many U.S. politicians.

Epstein had a list of clients that crossed international boundaries in a “little black book” and was aided by British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell who, according to court documents, dated Epstein and then recruited underage girls for him to have relations with. Maxwell was arrested by the FBI and in December 2021 was convicted of five sex trafficking and conspiracy charges. Prosecutors alleged Maxwell worked with Epstein to “recruit, groom, and ultimately abuse” children.

One of the relationships supported by information found and existing photographs was that between Epstein and Melinda Gates’ now ex-husband Bill Gates.

In opening up about her divorce from the Microsoft founder, Melinda Gates is saying the pandemic played a role and gave her the opportunity to get out of the marriage.

“I had some reasons I just couldn’t stay in that marriage anymore,” she said in an interview. “But the odd thing about COVID is that it gave me the privacy to do what I needed to do. It’s unbelievably painful, in innumerable ways, but I had the privacy to get through it.”

“I kept working with the person I was moving away from, and I needed to show up and be my best self every single day,” she said. “So even though I might be crying at 9 a.m. and then have to be on a video conference at 10 a.m. with the person I’m leaving, I have to show up and be my best. I learned as a leader that I could do it. It reminded me that the foundation calls me to be my best.”

“We work with unbelievable partners around the world who were also struggling during COVID,” she said. “I was on a video call with a woman who had lost her father, and a week later she’s on a call with me, right?”

In the interview this year, King asked about her ex-husband’s affair with a staffer 20 years ago, which a spokesperson for the Microsoft co-founder confirmed in May 2021. “I certainly believe in forgiveness, so thought we had worked through some of that,” Melinda said. “It wasn’t one moment or one specific thing that happened. There just came a point in time where there was enough there that I realized it just wasn’t healthy. And I couldn’t trust what we had.”

Melinda mentioned that her husband’s relationship with the late Jeffrey Epstein played a role. In the interview with CBS host Gayle King, the 57-year-old spoke about infidelity and more, The Daily Beast reported. But one thing that stuck out more than the others is the role that the late convicted sex offender Epstein played in her wanting a divorce.

Melinda said, “I did not like that he had meetings with Jeffery Epstein, no. I made that clear to him.” She met Epstein one time, curious to see who he was, but says, “I regretted it the second I walked in the door. He was abhorrent. He was evil personified. My heart breaks for these women.”

When King asked if she shared her immense hatred for Epstein with Bill, Melinda is nodding, but says, distancing herself from the relationship her former husband had with Epstein, “Any of the questions remaining about what Bill’s relationship there was, those are for Bill to answer. but I made it very clear how I felt about him.”

When Epstein died, Bill Gates made a statement to CBS Mornings saying, “Meeting with Epstein was a mistake that I regret deeply. It was a substantial error in judgement.” In August 2021, Gates also told CNN the he regrets the time he spent with Epstein.

“I had a lot of tears for many days. I mean, days where I’m literally laying on the floor … thinking, ‘How can this be? How can I get up? How am I going to move forward?’” she added in a clip of the interview, Conservative Brief reported.

Melinda indicated that she and her ex-husband remain friendly, but not friends.
