Tucker Carlson, in a must-watch segment on Fox & Friends on Wednesday, has perfectly encapsulated the biggest ‘crisis’ facing America today. Watch:

“All right, what do you think about this whole thing, because more and more of the onion has been peeled back?” Ainsley Earhardt asked.

“Well, this, this is the core of the onion,” Tucker Carlson replied. “This story is not about some private company deciding what language is safe or permitted and what’s not. It’s not content moderation. It’s censorship being overseen by the U.S. government, which is a crime. It’s a violation of the First Amendment. It’s the core freedom that we have, the freedom to say what we think is true. That’s why this country is different from every other country. It’s not our economy, you know, that — that is American exceptionalism is the First Amendment, period. That’s the foundation of all freedom.”

“And so if you find yourself in a place where the government is censoring political speech, if the ruling party is preventing criticism of itself, which is exactly what’s happening, then you know, you’re in a crisis,” Carlson continued. “And we are. So this — this — this, Jim Baker was, of course, General Counsel over at FBI, the very center of the Russiagate hoax and disaster, an attack on human rights. It’s the guy who, who tried to put Mike Flynn in jail for knowing too much. That’s not an overstatement.”

“He somehow winds up general counsel at Twitter, and now we find he — he wasn’t vetting the files, he was censoring the files, of course, to take out incriminating information about himself and the FBI,” he went on. “So this story is about the FBI, it’s not about Twitter. And it’s also about Facebook, because we know that the FBI went to Facebook, because Mark Zuckerberg told us that in the Joe Rogan interview, and said, ‘Whoa, be careful with this Hunter Biden laptop, it’s Russian.’ Well, of course, they knew it wasn’t because they’ve had possession of it since 2019.”

“This is not a complicated story, it’s very simple story. The FBI weighed in, in the last presidential election on behalf of Joe Biden, period,” Carlson added. “And we need to respond to that.”

“Absolutely. And I think the thing is, they want to make it complicated,” Kilmeade responded. “You break it down.”

Tucker is referring to the revelations from the Twitter Files, which are a set of documents that new Twitter CEO Elon Musk had authorized to be released to the public about the company’s deliberations to censor information prior to the 2020 election.

Matt Taibbi, a veteran left-leaning journalist, had been given the Twitter Files exposing Biden campaign and DNC coordination with the social media platform regarding censorship of the Hunter Biden laptop story. But one thing was absent: Mention of the FBI.

Taibbi claimed that Jim Baker, a former General Counsel for the FBI, had vetted the information given to him without knowledge of Twitter’s new management and delayed giving the documents to him. The widespread assumption, awaiting confirmation of a more extensive released of the Twitter Files, is that Baker may have stripped out information that implicated the FBI in the decision.

Miranda Devine, author of “The Laptop from Hell,” urged Elon Musk to “stop playing games” and release all the information. Devine had noted there is a suspect lack of documentation of the FBI’s role in the Hunter Biden laptop story’s suppression. Musk had claimed that he “Only discovered this on Sunday.”

“Oh come on, [Elon Musk]. It was obvious Friday that someone had excised mention of the FBI from #TwitterFiles,” Devine tweeted. “Wasn’t hard to guess who when you knew Twitter’s lawyer was James Baker, the FBI’s Russiagate quarterback. Which you had to know. Just release it all. Stop playing games.”

Jack Dorsey, the former CEO of Twitter, also urged Musk to release all the Twitter Files “without filter.”

“If the goal is transparency to build trust, why not just release everything without filter and let people judge for themselves?” Dorsey tweeted. “Including all discussions around current and future actions? Make everything public now.”

As Becker News reported earlier, there is “smoking gun” evidence that former Head of Trust & Safety Yoel Roth had gotten specific information from the FBI about the Hunter Biden laptop story being potential “Russian disinformation” prior to the 2020 election.

Yoel Roth provided testimony in December 2020 in response to a complaint with the Federal Elections Commission that Twitter’s intervention to suppress the Hunter Biden laptop story constituted an illegal ‘in-kind contribution’ to the Biden campaign. Roth, contrary to information disclosed in the Twitter Files, provided testimony in an “exhibit” to the FEC response that implicates the FBI.

“Since 2018, I have had regular meetings with the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, the Department of Homeland Security, the FBI, and industry peers regarding election security,” he revealed.

“During these weekly meetings, the federal law enforcement agencies communicated that they expected ‘hack-and-leak operations’ by state actors might occur in the period shortly before the 2020 presidential election, likely in October,” he went on. “I was told in these meetings that the intelligence community expected that individuals associated with political campaigns would be subject to hacking attacks and that material obtained through those hacking attacks would likely be disseminated over social media platforms, including Twitter. These expectations of hack-and-leak operations were discussed throughout 2020. I also learned in these meetings that there were rumors that a hack-and-leak operation would involve Hunter Biden.”

This is a very important concession. Despite claims that Twitter’s censorship of the Hunter Biden story came solely at the behest of the Biden campaign staff and the Democratic National Committee, Roth’s testimony highly suggests that the U.S. security state apparatus was deeply implicated in Twitter’s decision to remove the story.

There is further evidence that the FBI was coordinating with big social media platforms like Twitter on a ‘day-to-day’ basis regarding alleged “Russian interference” in the election, such as the Hunter Biden laptop story. FBI Agent Elvis Chan provided testimony during a lawsuit brought by state attorneys general against Big Tech censorship that the FBI and the Cybersecurity Infrastructure and Security Administration were deeply involved in such social media policing. On Wednesday, the court transcript of Agent Chan’s testimony was released and corroborated earlier reports.

“Mr. Chan, or Agent Chan, who do you recall on the social media platform side participating in these — in these working group meetings that you have been testifying about from 2020 and 2022?”

“The companies that I remember attending the meetings are Facebook; Microsoft; Google; Twitter; Yahoo!, which have been known as Verizon Media at the time; Wikimedia Foundation and Reddit,” Agent Chan said.

Chan was then asked why the FBI was participating in these meetings.

“And why are you included in particular?”

“The reason that I attend these meetings is because the way the FBI works is FBI field offices are responsible for maintaining day-to-day relationships with the companies that are headquartered in their area of responsibility, which I may occasionally abbreviate AOR,” Chan responded. “And all of the companies that have been listed, with the exception of Microsoft, are all headquartered in San Francisco’s territory.”

Chan also testified that he was in regular contact with Facebook’s Steven Siegel and Twitter’s Yoel Roth, as reported by Lee Fang.

Yoel Roth, formerly Twitter’s Head of Trust and Safety, was recently terminated by Elon Musk, as was Twitter’s General Counsel Jim Baker, who was formerly the FBI’s General Counsel.

Chan also related the the U.S. government is in regular correspondence with major social media platforms regarding elections; namely, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Agency (or CISA).

Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt, one of the attorneys general that filed the lawsuit, earlier disclosed an overview of FBI agent Elvis Chan’s testimony on ‘weekly meetings’ about censoring Internet posts ahead of the 2020 election.

“In our deposition of FBI agent Elvis Chan on Tuesday, we found that the FBI plays a big role in working with social media companies to censor speech – from weekly meetings with social media companies ahead of the 2020 election to asks for account takedowns,” Schmitt wrote in a Twitter thread.

This is not only unconstitutional restriction of Americans’ freedom of speech, it is also a massive case of election interference.

Tucker Carlson has perfectly encapsulated the gravest threat to the American people: Censorship of their speech based on alleged “safety” and “security.”
